with the cobb unit you can have some tune it for you to either sharpen up the existing tune from cobb or start from scratch. Its not like a honda or evo (which have bombarded the chicago market) so there isnt a place like ams for bmw ( i bet they can but expensive) but the cool thing is if they still do it and have put this option on the cobb unit, you can use other peoples tunes

I've had work done at GRD, and Sound Performance on the car I had before my BMW. They are both familiar with the Cobb program. Shouldn't be a problem

im sure larry at SP could do it but its all varies, and its hard on a bmw because its such complicated car (everything and anything runs off the dme) so I would be a little stand offish on who tunes it, if they are confident that is fine, but ive seen horrible tunes before from people who say they are the best.
