Ordered a new battery after three months of this:
Anyone got any experience of using Bimmerlink to register it? |

Three months? You are living dangerously, I have Carly for BMW but I imagine it’s very easy to register the battery with Bimmerlink also.

It's not all the time, just if the car has been left for a few days. Classic symptoms of auto stop/start not working, welcome lights not coming on and random error messages that disappear as quickly as they arrive. |

Idled it for a little over an hour combined while in line to get a covid vaccine. Blown away it didn't protest by lifter ticking at me!
And as a side note, I never thought I'd get a shot from the comfort of BMW Sports seats. Much better than any doctors chair I've been in |

More like what did it do to me... I received the parts from FCP to do the front brakes and the amount of lubricant included wouldn't be sufficient for two stray cats to have sex. I thought that I'd run over to Autozone for Brake Quiet and suddenly the car goes into limp mode. I ran Carly for BMW in the parking lot, get all kinds of codes and my blood pressure spikes. I clear the codes and the limp mode disappears.
I looked at the brake fluid level when I get home and it's right at the arrow point for full. Perhaps the brake pads are extending the pistons and giving a false error code. Funny, I replaced both Wheel Speed sensors late late year and it was included in the codes. At least it's not the cooling system, you know how paranoid we get about the subject.

I still haven't brought a legit scan tool like Carly or protools. I just have a good old Autphix 7910 sitting in my closet. Never needed it |

It's the older version and it's been accurate. I do have a basic OBDII scanner in the glove box but I haven't used it since buying Carly. I'll get the brakes done in a day or two and investigate further. But, it's happy hour and I don't want to think about it anymore today. Cheers!

Bimmercode / Bimmerlink is still a one time purchase, and in many ways better than carly.

I drove it about 200 miles total on a junkyard trip, got to cruise at 100+ for over 30 miles on the I-95 Express Lane Autobahn and then ran low enough on gas to get the engine almost stalling right by the gas station lol.
