No joy... not at the bottom, can't find it in the top. Even tried blasting compressed air up through the TB hole. Nothing... I'm thinking it made its way into one of the lower tubes.

I installed the other large DISA, and she's running pretty much normally now, but with an occasional stumble at idle. Regardless, I don't want to be driving her with that fucking flap kicking around in the manifold, even though I've probably been driving it like that for weeks...

She's an '06 330i, and does have the old style external CCV. That's the main reason I want to avoid taking the manifold off. I have visions of those damned CCV hoses breaking, and leaving me stranded altogether...

Yeah you gotta fish that out whatever it takes even if it doesn't cause any damage it can't be adding to performance any. It's not that bad I have the manifold off mine atm too doing a 3 stage upgrade on the 325.

New ofhg installed and oil change done. Car went into limp mode with a vanos code soon after so might have opened up a can of worms now. Cleaning vanos solenoids tonight or tomorrow if code comes back

Oh, I know it has to come out, and now... it's just fucking with the external CCV has me gun-shy. I can do the work, no doubt, and it's not complicated, I just don't want to be stuck waiting for parts, and I am supposed to be heading out of town this weekend, and I have to get her windshield re-replaced, since the glass company fucked up the first attempt, before that... time is not something I have a lot of to mess with this.

There was quite a bit of oil in the intake, which leads me to believe the CCV needs replacing anyway... gonna call the local dealer(s) here tomorrow, and see what kind of wait time I'm looking at for CCV parts...

Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The kit has stainless hex bolts with tiny little washers and nuts to be used for the gas and brake pedals. I got the bolts with washers and nuts on for two holes on the brake pedal (the two on the outside side). The backing of the rubber pedal cover does not allow that on the other side so I used stainless screws. The gas pedal holes are drilled into plastic and I'm not sure how to get around behind to get the washers and nuts on, so I used stainless screws.

The dead pedal comes with regular screws so I subbed in some stainless.

I also had to bend the brake pedal cover a bit more to match the curve of the pedal.

Messed around with some cheap red film tint today. I like the look--will get some more high quality film when these eventually bubble and peel off.

Noticed that my reverse bulb melted the inner housing--enough to crack through the sections of the other bulb. Will have to get LED bulbs for all of them.

It's a 537, so i think that it had the plastic shaft, which is long gone... I also can't find the flap, which is concerning. I don't think it's small enough to fit down the runners... Any idea where i should be looking? Do i need to pull the intake manifold?

halp, please!!

How can you tell disa revisions from each other? Do I understand it correctly that later revisions had metal shafts or that’s not the case?

Small disas had 2 revisions and large had 3. The numbers are the last 3 of the part number:

Small:928 (hollow shaft) to 538 (solid shaft)
Large 929 (hollow shaft) to 537 solid shaft to 114 (half metal half solid plastic shaft)

Cleaned. Cleaned, Cleaned - love this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Applied this to all of the plastic/rubber areas exposed to the sun, including areas when the top is down: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What did you use? Bare aluminum and won't oxydize? I wonder if it'll work on steel

the notion popped into my head when I saw the size. I had figured I'd be okay though but now idk.
Doesn't the composition of the fluid change depending on intended use? Is the kitchen one effective with autos? (sorry not too familiar with the diff extinguishers, but I'd assume it's designed to work with grease fires so it should be fine)

wolfgang metal sealant.

it says it's acrylic, it goes on like wax. Says you need to polish first but works on everything.
https://www.amazon.com/Wolfgang-Meta...s%2C169&sr=8-3

we'll see how it does on the whole not oxidizing thing.

well, started to pull the intake manifold out since I want to flush my heater core at the core itself. I'm going to say intake manifold removal is surprisingly difficult - I couldn't remove the infamous pcv hose from the valve cover and couldn't free up the wiring bracket from the manifold. Couldn't undo the screws holding the bracket to the manifold and wasn't successful pulling the wiring harness junction from the bracket either. I'll have to watch some videos, just as I was starting to get slightly cocky thinking I can do a lot of stuff myself, the e90 reminded me to stay humble and don't get overly confident.
