I had a stripped Torx screw on the bracket for that wiring box but did manage to push the box off the bracket. When working on older cars if it's not rusted bolts or stripped heads it's broken plastic bits. We adapt and overcome!

Walnut Blasted the intake valves. The pic below is after 2 years and maybe 30,000 miles at best. I own my own equipment. So, all I have to do it pick up some 18-40 walnut media. Next blasting is April 2023 😀

I also use a remote starter button so I don't have I take out the fan & rotate the crank. It's a sh@t ton easier!

I'm procrastinating because I have to get elbows deep back in my car to fix the alignment of my DPs since theyre touching the subframe.

More like you have the opportunity to pry the living sh!t out of it with the screwdrivers to get it off after you remove the throttle body, but yeah it WILL come off.

The bolts did not come with it I bought them separate, you need new ones they're aluminum torque to yield, one time use. FCP has kits that include them. I replaced motor mounts on the 330i and like tie rods were for e90yyc they are the thing I won't be replacing on the 325. At 206k the mounts were fine and tight on the 330 and they also are on the 325. I'm thinking these N/A engines don't put enough torque on them to wear them out. If I was time rushed I'd have them there just in case. I'm doing the working water pump "while I'm in there", but not the motor mounts.

I only had one issue, a snapped bolt in the rear corner, but it spun out easy with a 1/4" wood chisel tapped into it a few times, I posted pic a few pages back. Getting to the oil pan is the work, it's pretty straightforward job replacing the gasket itself. I would be careful with trusting your torque wrench, some of these bolts spin in easy and some are tighter, tight enough to trip the 8 ft/lb on the wrench, but the bolt won't be bottomed. I use only hand tools on it, and spin each one down with a stubby ratchet until it bottoms out. You can tell it's bottomed out when the ring washer won't spin freely. Bottomed out is also the point where the ones that go in easily finally get to 8 ft/lb so I figure that's what BMW is telling us, bottomed out +90 degrees. Zip tie the gasket loosely to the pan so it doesn't move around until you get a few bolts started and mark each one as you torque it unless you have Amazing Kreskin powers of concentration you'll lose your place.

It's called Mag Plug, it has a removable magnetic insert you unscrew to let any steel shavings drop off.

How badly was it leaking? Yet to remove the undertray on mine, but there's just no way I'm lucky enough to have it OK.

thanks for the tips, ill look for the kits.

I'm a lead foot driver, i floor it everywhere, imagine that's why motor mounts crapped out

This car didn't come with an engine belly pan so I could have immediate access to puddles of oil. This is 24 hours of leak...

I like the execution of those lights. You didn't plaster them everywhere so it doesn't look tacky. Looks good imo. Did you wire to the ambient lighting or is it a separate remote?

Wired it into the cigarette lighter so i comes on when you turn on the ignition. There’s an app to change the colors for them though

Can you share what you bought? I'd like to do this in the GFs car, maybe then she'll stop bugging me for a new Mercedes for a little while 😜

Got my new windshield reinstalled. The glass shop originally installed it off-center, so the trim wasn't sitting flush. All good now.

Cheers!
