25 miles on the trail today. That tailwind was fun. Zipping along with not much effort.

Nearly perfect cycling weather today. Sunny, dry, mid-70s, slight breeze. I knocked out 30 miles. One more day tomorrow with this nice weather and then it's back to normal November temps.

Nice and warm again today, but that crosswind out of the south was bordering on dangerous. I had to cut my ride short by a few miles. Still managed to get 21.

40 mph! Yeah, that's not going to set any records on the upwind courses. Our weekly Saturday group ride will be rained out this week

Probably the only 150 mile week I'll get in this year. Great weather for riding this past week, though. Not so much for next week.

I'm looking to get back into road cycling again. I have a 2011 Trek XO2 Cyclocross bike I purchased in 2011. I had been very active back in 2011/2012. I was riding in and around Longmont, CO generally riding around 25-35 mile loops. These were generally Longmont to Boulder rides or around the trail system throughout Longmont. I had even made rides from Longmont to Fort Collins on hwy 287 (60+ mile loops). The plan back then was to get into great riding shape, ride a couple/three centuries per month and build the stamina to make a cross country ride (St. Augustine, FL to Blaine, WA). Then work got in the way and I stopped riding (played more golf instead). The cross country ride dream ended.
Fast forward to present day and I now live in northeast Florida but still have the Trek. I've got a long way to go before I can match what I had done back in 2011 but I need to start riding. I'm trading in my Trek XO2 for a Specialized Roll 3.0. I'm looking to get more active and lose some weight. Once I get under (or near) the Clydesdale mark I'll look into trading the Roll for a road bike, probably an Allez or some decent non/competition/racing road bike. I'm too old to ride with the fast young guys. While I am not planning on riding cross country in the future, I am looking to ride frequently in and around Palm Coast. There's over 110 miles of trails so I'll be able to figure out long routes. There aren't the elevation changes as Colorado had so I'll have to make up for it with distance. I've got some reading to do in this thread to catch up. I look forward to getting back to riding and getting to know those here who ride. Cheers! |

No chance of riding now with rain for days and 8C temps so going for walks and indoor bike is the order for the day.

Same here. Stuck inside until later in the week. We're supposed to have temps on the 50s Wed and Thu, but high winds. So still not ideal.

I haven’t been out for more than 3 weeks now. It has been between -2C and -4C in the mornings this last week, and now very wet. I think it is over until Feb/Mar, so inside only! and carrying on with the dog walks of course.

I'm getting back into riding again. Just bought a Bianchi Sprint 105 in Graphite Black...Christmas present to myself. Now if the weather would cooperate for weekend rides.

The weather turned chilly and I was getting chilled to the bone at 20 miles, so I called it quits there. Still got my 100 for the week and went over 5k for the year.

Great morning ride but had a hard crash on loose gravel around mile 20. But, if you’re not bleeding your not trying.

I'll mix a long walk with a stop at the supermarket to get essentials getting a bus back with two shopping bags of food. Important to have some 'roughage' for yourself without relying too much on the car. |

Shoulder is sore but has motion, left arm has a lot of road rash and oddly the State bike came out without a scratch.

I would suggest getting a new new GPS enabled computer vs the old sensor units, especially if you are on road where signal isn't likely a problem. Far more capable and accurate, plus integrate with apps like Strava
