I bought my oem all weather floor mats (front + back) from this seller on ebay for $75 shipped. Just another option to consider when you do your price comparisons..

I'm going the same way actually. For the first half of this year I was washing my car weekly and/or when it got rained on. Now I'm washing every other week and I just don't seem to be as bothered by rain spots and dust. I'm sure I still care for my car a hundred times more than the average person - maybe I'm just getting old

One thing I'm not with you on is the valet parking. There's no way in hell I'd ever valet park my car! I've even canceled a hotel reservation on the spot after finding out they would only valet park - the gf wasn't happy about driving around Chicago late on a Friday night looking for a hotel with self parking lol

I had Rogers in Bloomington do the M Sport kit on my old car. Not the cheapest, but a 100% perfect paint match and fitment.

Welcome back and congrats!! I'm with Gary, I would never valet my car. After some horror stories from family and friends, I would rather park my car at a self-parking lot and then walk to wherever.

Maaan Joe! resist the carbon fiber urge! It is a rash that will slowly spread to the rest of your car.

I highly recommend Hagen's body shop in uptown. The guy has done some great work for me.

I guess it would be OK if you knew the guys and they left it parked out front. I think I'd still have a hard time handing over the keys.

Yeah, that hotel situation sucked. I specifically booked it because they had self parking (hard to find in downtown Chicago hotels), and even called the place before booking to make sure. So after the long drive down there I wasn't happy to find out it was valet only! It worked out OK in the end though.

I know. I don't want the carbon fiber, I want the diffuser. Find me a non-carbon fiber diffuser and I'll buy it in a nano second. They over charge for that crap and for a piece like that, the weight savings doesn't mean SH**

This is why I want to get the part painted. I'm not a fan of the look of that stuff...unless it comes fromt he factory that way.

If you can only find a carbon diffusor, maybe you should wrap the entire car in carbon pattern vinyl to match

How about cutting the tips a bit and re-welding them so they don't stick out so much? I know Kevin tried the the connecting pipes, but I think you could get an inch or so at the tips????

Regardless of whether it is carbon fiber or not, I feel it would ruin the car's aesthetics. Currently, the bumper, side skirts, and stock diffuser flow really nicely. This is why I am usually against aftermarket lips as well.

This is an option. No more worries about the snow ruining the paint. The extra 300 whp won't hurt either!

I think I got about 12 whp just by using the BMW leather care kit.

Joe, can you post a link to the actual diffusor you're thinking of? I think they make a couple good-looking diffusors...but the OEM m3 rear bumper is already stunning.

You say this now, but I know very well next summer you'll have a carbon fiber diffuser AND lip.

New Issue: DASH DOESN'T WORK!

First things first... Here is the link to the diffuser I'm looking at. It is the most reasonably priced one I can find and I've been told it fits well.

http://www.jl-motoring.com/BMW_E92_E...p/bmdi9207.htm

But I've got an entirely new problem. I was running an errand yesterday and I looked down at my gauge cluster and NOTHING WORKS! speedo is stuck at 32 mph and the rpm gauge is stuck at 2500 rpms!! No back lighting, fuel gauge, NOTHING! Nothing electronically aftermarket except a tune and angel eyes.

check out the thread on m3post... I've got pics of it
