Man, should've listened to Parker's advice, though I don't know where else I would've had everything installed.

Just posted this in the Utah BMW FB Group:

Just an FYI. No one please ever use Alex Auto Hause here in Salt Lake. I setup an appointment a week ago to simply have a brand new in box (with all parts included) FMIC and DP installed on my 335i. I dropped the car off at 9AM and was told at the latest the car would be ready by 5:30pm the same day. I called (I wasn't called) at 5:15 to get an update and was told the car wasn't even into a garage and wouldn't be worked on until tomorrow. So I've since been carless and of course had to make arrangements with work and other responsibilities I had (I thought the whole idea behind making an appointment was to avoid this).

This morning I call at 8AM when they open to ensure they're working on my car, which they said they are and it should be done by 11am. I called at noon (the job is booked at 3 hours but on a lift should take less than that) and was told the tech was having trouble aligning the downpipes, but that they'd be on soon, but the FMIC was still not on. It's now nearly 3 hours after that and I've still not received a call all for a stupid and very simple DP and FMIC installation that most people at home without a lift can do within a few hours.

Absolute joke of a company and horrible customer service.

I called 30 minutes ago and apparently the tech was driving my car making sure everything was smooth. I was supposed to receive a call within 5-10 minutes, now it's been 30 minutes (big surprise). They've had my car for nearly 36 hours for a straight-forward DP & FMIC install. So ridiculous.

The owner actually discounted the rate. I was expecting some ridiculous 8 hour rate, but that didn't happen, which was a relief.

Copied this from the FB post:

So the resolution, I got the car back and the installation seems good so far. Slight rattle, but hopefully it'll go away otherwise I need to go back to the shop.

I had a lengthy, albeit polite and professional conversation with the owner and he apologized hand over fist as he knew they screwed up, which at least he admitted and made me feel better.

The thing is, and I communicated this to the owner, I completely understand that in an industry like his, nothing is finite, however a simple phone call could've alleviated the majority of this stress. Simple customer service to backup the solid work.

Eh, as long as the car drives fine and there are no hang-ups, I'll be happy and will go on my merry way (with more boost and HP).

Parker, do you know what was happening with the coding guy? Wasn't he mia for a while? I'd like to get the the software update and turn off the bulb check so I can upgrade to the LCI tails, but not if the guy is having probs.

Thanks! There's just a slight buzz at startup for maybe 10 seconds, but seems to go away pretty quickly, so not too worried about it now. Not that I'm looking for a reason to go back anytime soon, but the shop offers a 3 year warranty essentially on work done, so they said if it rattles from now til then they'll put it up on the rack and check it out, so if it worsens I'll definitely have it checked out.

Thanks! I loved the guy there giving me a hard time and telling me how I'm not an enthusiast because I didn't do the work myself.

Good to know, I will be skipping that shop. How are the DP's now? I would love to hear your car! Any codes or anything thrown?

Moving North. We dislike our location that it was worth the stress and pain of moving. Looking to find another town home in Sandy or Midvale.

I know of one that would be for rent/sale in Midvale... They're looking for a house to buy...but haven't been able to get one under contract yet.
