I think I got about 12 whp just by using the BMW leather care kit.
The diffuser I'm looking at costs half of what the regular Vorsteiner and like ones do so I'm unfortunately only going to get an extra 150 whp instead.

But I've got an entirely new problem. I was running an errand yesterday and I looked down at my gauge cluster and NOTHING WORKS! speedo is stuck at 32 mph and the rpm gauge is stuck at 2500 rpms!! No back lighting, fuel gauge, NOTHING! Nothing electronically aftermarket except a tune and angel eyes.

check out the thread on m3post... I've got pics of it

Joe,

Who are you working with at Minnetonka? Tim Storms is a great SA

Regarding your concern about the tune, usually tunes like that won't affect electronics and stuff. For example, my GIAC flash does not touch any of the interior electronics or anything.

That said, I will say that the guys at JB eurotech could not read my ECU because of the GIAC flash, and as a result of that, they could not flash over the GIAC software. I am not sure if the dealer uses the same equipment, but if they do, they might run into the same issues.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Cheers man,
Anvar

I'm not working with anyone in particular. Today they gave me over to Jeremy Schiller, and he looked like he had had a rough night... doesn't surprise me after the Vikings performance last nigh...

I'll have to ask for your guy next time though.

Sorry to hear that Joe, hopefully it isn't anything too serious.

So I've been trying to get my car detailed (wax, sealant etc) before the salt hits the road. Sterling has finished for the season and I can't get ahold of Eurodetail. Any other recommendations in Mpls? I'd like to get this done in the next week if possible as the weather forecast isn't looking so good...

Its not in Minneapolis, but Gerring's carwash in Wayzata did a pretty good job on my brother's car that he is selling.

Just heard back from the dealer, they have to replace the entire dash unit. Hopefully they can get it done by end of day tomorrow.

Thank god my car is still under warranty.

Hmm this is too bad. They said the same thing about my stuck fuel gauge, but I decided to keep my car for a couple of days and the problem sorted itself out. Obviously, it sounds like you have a much more serious issue here though that would warrant the dash replacement. I am surprised they had an M3 dash in stock!

What did they say the issue was?

They didn't have an M3 dash in stock, they had to overnight it from somewhere. Its supposed to get there this morning.

They said that something with the dash was causing it to short out and keep busting fuses.

That sucks. Pretty strange for a new car. At least it's all covered by the warranty.

Update: They got a new dash in today and it was the wrong one. So they have to ship the correct one in from Germany and it won't be here for about 7 days.

Loaner: 2011 328 xi... that might actually be a good thing if it ends up snowing tomorrow.

I guess if something like this is going to happen, it's a good time for it! I'd rather not have an M out in this storm. I was dodging branches and garbage cans on the way home from work...

I don't think there is any accumulating snow forecast, but nonetheless I need to start thinking about changing my wheels over too. I was hoping to get to mid-November

I just watched today's Good Morning America report on the N54. The only owner interviewed was a guy who bought an E92 335 for his 25 yr old daughter. With comments like "it was shaking so much I thought it was going to blow up", it seemed a little sensationalized. I'm looking forward to the full "hidden camera" report later tonight...

I'll be using my (crappy RFT) summer Potenzas too. I never got the new 2010+ TPMS sensors installed in my winter wheels, I have them on order but it'll be next week before I'll be ready to swap over. I'm not too worried, I don't think we'll be seeing any blizzards in the near future - I hope

Well this was the first morning I saw temps below freezing on the way to work, but at least it's clear and dry. The next week looks good too, dry with temps in the 50s, so I'll be holding out on the winter tires for another while
