Sorry, guess I should have been more clear. I meant heated mirrors AND heated washer nozzles for the windshield.

The pop up headlight washers weren't on my '07 328i (no cold weather package) but they are on my '09 335i (yes cold weather package).

You are right though that the headlight washers have always been a part of the Cold Weather Package.
Yes, you are right. Touched my mirrors yesterday night and they are indeed noticeably warm.

Yes, the headlight washers are standard on X-drive, not sure about the heated mirrors, but it would seem logical that they are also.

Here's why you may not have noticed you had this standard feature. Unlike previous BMW's where car on=mirror heaters on, your e9x has different conditions that trigger differrent settings for them. I liked the old way better.

The values are:

Without Wipers on

Temp 5 to 15'C 50% power
Temp 5 to -10'C 75% power
Temp below -10'C 100% power

With Wipers on
Temp 25 to 35'C 25% Power
Temp 15 to 25'C 50% Power
Temp 5 to 15'C 75% power
Temp 5'C and below 100% power

100% power is 18W

For E91 (wagon) - when the glass hatch is opened, the rear wiper moves freely - when the hatch is closed it locked in place.

thus it can be concluded that the RPM's fall faster and climb slower with the clutch depressed because there is more resistance on the engine (i.e. clutch friction)
You missed something and your explanation is wrong, although the observation is correct. When the clutch is depressed the engine is not connected to the combined mass of the clutch (partly), gearbox shafts and sprockets. It is only connected to the flywheel. Thus the internal friction and compression force has considerable less moment of inertia to slow down, and the RPM's will decrease faster.

The other way around:
When the clutch is engaged the crankshaft is "heavier", it has more moment of inertia connected to it, and will need more time to slow down.
If you have a gear engaged you will have ALOT MORE, actually the whole car if you are driving around with your wheels on the ground. And what happens then? The friction and compression in the engine will be contributing to slowing the whole car down, and thus rev down somewhat slower...

When running for topspeed in 5th gear at around 7000rpm and you've been at 250km/h(155Mph) for a while, your car will ask to be putted in 6th gear.

this only applies for up-shift, not down-shift, and it assumes you don't skip gears.

6MT + Cruise Control.

Engine will auto-rev-match for the next gear.

Try this:

Set your cruise control while you're in 4th gear. Stomp the clutch but don't touch the accelerator, the revs will automatically drop to the perfect engine speed for 5th gear. Let off the clutch and... perfect shift. No drivetrain shock or anything. Doesn't matter the speed.

Hold down the unlock for 5 sec and all the windows and sun roof open. And in the UK holding I think the can be closed this way also.

Yup. You can code the car to enable rolling up the windows while holding the lock button as well (see coding section).

Obviously. How would the computer know you want to down-shift, and why would you be skipping cogs w/ cruise control enabled? Still a very nice feature. It's not far off from the 370Z feature which garners lots of praise for manual trannies which rev matches for you as well depending on your gear position before you close the clutch.

So, here's the way to switch between manual and auto modes without turning A\C on.

Way to reproduce:

1. Start from turning "Auto" on. Then turn A\C off manually.
2. Now, if you press any of the manual air flow direction buttons this would also switch "Auto" mode off implicitly.
3. If In order to switch back to auto, instead of pressing the "Auto" (which will turn the AC on as well), you UN-press the active air flow direction button(s), the car will switch to back to "Auto" without turning the AC on.
There is also a coding option available to not have the A/C come on whenever you press auto mode.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already. But you can start the car without inserting the keyfob, even if you don't have comfort access. And no, you don't need to start the car first and remove the keyfob to do it. Just hold it up to the key slot.

If you have a E92/E93 and click the open button twice, the windows will roll down halfways when you grap the doorhandle for easier access to you car if parked in narrow area. The windows will automatically close again when you shut the door.

Our car is almost 11 months old and I just discovered this. If you leave the trunk lid open eventually the trunk light will turn off. I don't know how long this takes.

My wife came home the other day and took some stuff out of the trunk. She saw the neighbor out front and went to talk to her but didn't close the trunk. I heard her come home and when she didn't come into the house I went looking for her. We talked to the neighbor for at least 10-15 minutes. When we went back into the garage the trunk light had turned off.

That's pretty typical for all cars since the beginning of times. I remember that once I forgot to turn off the headlights in my '88 Civic. When I came back several hours later they were off. I don't know how long it took either...

So this is not correct. In auto mode the AC indicator lights, but it only means the AC compressor is "available" to be used to condition the air; it doesn't mean the AC is running constantly.

This is not correct. AC Indicator light indicates that AC cycling is ON.

The second half of your statement is true for any car. The compressor isn't always engaged. The clutch for the belt on the compressor engages (and disengages) every few minutes.

Is this a Euro only thing? I just tried it and it does not work. It would be sooo useful when entering in my garage.

The 2nd press for 5 seconds thing to roll everything down and open sunroof does work.
