I think I've got an addiction
I had a good reason to wash it today (again). Yesterday, it rained twice. The first time it rained(while I was going to work), the water wouldn't stay on the paint since the paint was sleek/slick because of the waxes and the sun wasn't out. After a few hours, the sun came out. Then it started to rain again anddddd the sun came back out 🤣 The rainwater plus all the dirt/dust mixed and dried on the paint and made the car look ugly. So, I couldn't sleep and it was 6 am. Around 52 degrees outside. I went ahead and gave it a bath.. again I should wash my car at 6 am more often. It's so quiet, peaceful, and you can get a good view of the sunrise (Kinda). Plus, the cool early morning breeze is just something else. Call me crazy, but I feel so much more energetic for some reason Last edited by Mosaud1998; 04-30-2021 at 11:52 AM.. |

Bought a full set of e92 pre lci tails because I'd rather keep my beat up ones as spares to mess with and it was too good of a deal to pass up.
Also pulled the rear quarter window on the e46 to attempt to "rejuvenate" the window seal although it doesn't even seem bad, no idea why it leaks then..

Continuing with the de-Cragslistifying of the 325i. Got the cheesy Taiwan belly pan and transmission cover installed, they fit like OJ's glove. They fit tho, had to angle the screws in at various degrees to catch the clip nuts under some of the holes, but it lined up well enough that they all went in. I'm dreaming of Efthreeoh aluminum tray but in the meantime at least it's not nekkid down there.
Replaced the stained and corroded side view mirrors, that was one of the easier replacements, pop them off, unplug the heater wires, plug them in and snap them back into the housing. Replaced the chipped and worn shift knob with a OEM lightly used one from ebay. The little touches like these are slowly erasing 16 yrs worth of shabbiness. And last but not least, removed the bubbled tint from the rear window and side rears. This job sucks, my arms are aching from all the contortions it takes to get this sh!t off. I parked in the sun and used a heat gun but it still left most of the adhesive on the glass, that came off with copious scrubbing with degreaser and isopropyl. Kinda just gives you a woody seeing those headers...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Oops.
Not my car and I made a big mistake. Dropped the wrench perfectly between the two battery terminals while it was in the car. Fully charged battery. It made quite the scene. Car is perfectly okay with no damage. No one got hurt. Lesson: always cover one of the battery terminals when working with both exposed and you're wrenching one down. |
