there have been at least 5 (almost 6 if you count Los who is going to be soon) who have posted in these chi chats alone who are EC customers. Not to mention about 100 other guys on this site, and then 10,000 MB, Ferrari, Lambo, Audi, Porsche guys on various other sites. I said this shit in another thread last night. These forums are over populated with the THEORY that JB is the best tune, because it's the most heavily promoted (much thanks to Terry pushing it so hard). Just because I tell you the sky is blue, doesn't make it blue... do the research and you'll see it's not the case that its really black. Same thing applies here. I have heard that more HPFP failures have been documented by guys who run JB than any other tunes. Whether that is just because more guys run JB or because the JB is part of the problem (running too much boost or whatever) I don't know but just saying. 99% of the guys I know have never had problems with 1. Warranty voiding, 2. HPFP and 3. CEL/codes. Al is the exception but he bought his car used so no telling what was done to it before. ![]() |

edit, i just figured it out. just cuz you think JB tunes more doesn't make it true. Just because you've never heard of someone doesn't make them non existent or relevant. but to go with it.... which would you rather have. a mass produced tune that isn't unique to ANYONE's car/tune/preference except their test car... not what you want to car to drive like and exact ECU support for your exact mods on your own car... or a company that does all of that, plus you don't throw codes, don't need extra software or a physical manual installation under the hood, one you can go right back to stock in the click of a few buttons and one that has several local customers and an owner of the company in the same city as you? |

just sayin... don't pull the mom & pop card, these guys tune for underground racing lambos... someone obviously thinks they know what they are doing if they're letting them play with $300k cars.

Who said anything about the JB products? I lost my first hpfp 500 miles after my break in periods, so no tune caused that, the fact the hpfp arent great on these cars.

Again, who said anything about JBs Currently i am on a low power map and plan on getting it custom mapped when its avaliable. I have a hand held unit that plugs in to the odb port, not that much of a hassle and I can flash back to stock on the side of the highway in a pinch. I prefer this flash over all the others because it allows me to easily log my car and monitor it for proper boost, AFRs, temps and timing.

Edit, damn u seth, making me get out of bed to post (usually ur draging me into bed) and damn my iphone for making posting to fucking hard.
U can put the pefect flash on a car for this given conditions. But conditions changes and only through constent monitoring can you ensure ur car is happy and that's the route i went.

That's fine bro, more so venting than telling u (see what I wrote on 1st big post about this is what I said yesterday) sorry if it was misdirected.
My original point was if ur tune isn't fixing this stuff and not throwing codes then it's not as inclusive as u can have. Conditiond can change/mods upgraded ect but they will give u maps to accommodate all of that stuff. I'm getting retuned since getting my DPs. It's not a one and done flash. They also have a handheld. |

I hear ya. Concerning, the flash fix for the dp, I was under the understanding that most flash companies won't touch codes that will effect emissions testing. Ec = eurocharged then, that name is vaguely familiar. Unfortunelty they didnt advertise enough here to present to me as a valid option.

So, here is the story. I will answer all my pm's later today.
I am not one of those husbands that just buys a car and comes home and says, look what I got today. I do have my own business and wife does not ask about all revenues nor do I tell. I put almost all net earnings toward my salary anyway save for a small slush fund and the company pays for my car/insurance/phone. Point is she has no idea how much I pay for my car. Her comment has always been as long as you can afford it and don't bring any less home, I don't care. I was very upfront about what I was doing and why. I even showed the cars I was looking at to get her opinion. We even went so far as to go to an audi dealership together with kids to see how we fit. It was determined that the fit was not good...but... On the ride back, she opens the door about using the van more and that could work with the TTS. So given all this background and perceived support I continue to move forward. I find a car, negotiate a great deal with cash back to pay taxes in IL that was a push for me as far as payments. As I am asking her a question for the credit app, she all of a sudden has a problem. Basically it went from support to why do you want THAT car, you're so selfish, its just for you, you and your girlfriend (wat????)...so I say, ummm...ok how about this instead (shelby)...why do you have to have such an EXPENSIVE car?? So I make the mistake of pointing out that the van which she bought new was the most expensive car we have ever bought...oopss... So things escalated and it turns out she on top of all of the above she has concerns over her job. That and the impracticality of the TTS are fair points and had she voiced these thoughts earlier instead of waiting until the last minute there would be no problems. However alot of shit came out of this the least of which is why can't I be satisfied driving a hyundai elantra or a nissan juke?? Basically, the words divorce and lawyer hves been thrown around alot the past couple of days... Anyway, I am keeping the 3 and am modding the shit out of it. I told her if it brakes and it isn't covered I'm wiping my ass with the bill and giving it to her. Mods that I am looking into and looking for ideas: Perf shift boot perf ebrake and boot black headliner (almost time mark) new hood upgraded turbos BBK slotted rotors ss brake lines meth kit occ Any other ideas??

You have code clearing/reading right? You can dial it in just putting the cover back on the ECU box and leaving the cowl and rest of the shit off until you get it sorted. Drive it like 15-20 miles each time though, it takes a while for the codes to get thrown. FWIW I set mine to 75% and left it...it was fine (not throwing the codes for emissions - too weak or the codes for being set too strong). I didn't use a code reader so just kinda winged it... worked out though
