This. Daycare is insane. We spend on average $1200 a month for 3 days a week for 1 kid. We're waiting to have a second until our daughter is in school because we simply can't afford two in daycare at once

It's also the reason ownership on my 328 is approaching 6 years haha

Finally dug the damn car out. Washed cause it was needed.

Also, picked up a new set of shoes for spring...

Not sure about that. Would like to get the rear bumper done soon but I'm already destroying my car modding budget for the year.

FWIW decent Coilovers + other suspension stuff, good wheels and good tires, + whatever else you do is more then most people mod in a year. Unless they cheap out of course.

What are you going to do regarding the rear bumper? Mtech with CF insert? I want to do my rear bumper but it's so hard to tell the difference imo on darker cars...I would like something more aggressive...mtech + paint + cf insert is like a grand no?

Get the 7'' VRSF intercooler or 5'' stepped if you want and the charge pipe with tial already!

In other news I bought myself a V1 today. Will be hardwired in the moment it arrives. Psyched as I have wanted one of these for the longest time. So much for no car mods this year...I like to think of it as a driver mod...

V1! Nice! Pair that with Waze and you've got a good defense setup.

I would like the MTech rear. OEM bumpers are available for 450 now in the GB section. I wouldn't care if I got any standard diffuser for now. I'll probably hold off until May for any other mods. I splurged a little bit but they were all "forced upgrades".

So I have wanted a V1 since I was like 18. I've had 3-4 $100-$200 detectors over the years and they were ok. I've been looking at used V1s over the years and usually the price was low because they were old and not updated or close to being updated or stolen. Some guy had a used 1.8 recent version for $275 shipped in the for sale section and I tried to buy it but someone else snatched it up. I went and bought a brand new one from the V1 website for $400, No deal at all. Yes it is expensive but if I had it 5 months ago it would have saved me from a ticket. I've also wanted it for a long time so that helped justify it.

These are a good read before you buy a new or used V1:

http://www.rdforum.org/showthread.php?t=7830

http://www.rdforum.org/content/buyin...-buyers-guide/

Also, all of the radar test websites never list V1s because Valentine sells direct and doesn't let a middle man take a cut. Thus they never review them and only review brands they sell which is SUPER shady. C&D and a few others have good reviews on V1s vs. the competition. The best review by far is the guys who do the high speed cross country races. They swear by the V1 and Waze as Z said above. IMO it's the best for the money before you get into all the jammers and other crap.

Had a V1 on my last car. Was great, but I always forgot to turn it on and then bam, pulled over. Keep in mind, it can be the difference of a cop giving you a warning vs looking to see if you have a radar detector and judging. I would love the V1 mirror thing, but that is serious coin.

I've been relying on Waze lately since I usually am near the city or along main highways. Saved me a few times on the Merritt Pkwy in CT. Favorite road for sure.

It does not turn on automatically?

http://www.radar-mirror.com/Install_E92_M3.html

Built into the mirror is pretty sweet:

I'm going to have mine tucked up by my sun deflector. My hope is it can't be seen easily by an officer. That being said I've never been given a warning for speeding.

Wow you weren't lying that shit is expensive: http://www.radar-mirror.com/Store_V1_Mirrors.html

$800 is a bit much.

Ok. Hadley/Z/Anyone else:

What products do I use to clean my leather? I would like a full kit with brushes etc but I don't mind buying them separately. As far as I know the Chemical Guys have the best stuff right? Any suggestions or recommendations? Assume the leather is dirty and needs to be cleaned before conditioned. My Wife's coat left some dye it looks like on here seat this winter from being wet as well.

In the past I always just used Meguires leather cleaner but never impressed with the results.

School me.

in other news the V1 is hardwired in and good to go. Maxima will be sold May 1st. E91 I think I will take possession of in June, it's already sold to me.

I currently use Sonax Leather Foam. Great stuff, but never had to test it on serious cleaning. I'd probably go with the Lexol cleaner first for markings, etc. Usually I use a pack of terry towels instead of a brush, but never tried one.

$5 says Hadley uses an Art of Shaving brush to coat the underside of his leather.

Ok so I buy this to clean it: http://www.amazon.com/Lexol-pH-Balan...eather+Cleaner

and then Sonax or http://www.amazon.com/Lexol-1013-Lea...eather+Cleaner It has ridiculous reviews and the price is right...

Then a pack of: http://www.amazon.com/Zwipes-Microfi...+for+detailing

much less expensive than I was thinking. I'll wait for Hadley to respond with some wise ass comment before I order

I use Autoglym for leather cleaner, I hated the glossy look left after other cleaners and my seats still have that matte look to them. I used to apply them with a brush but got an attachment for my DA,

Autoglym:

http://www.amazon.com/Autoglym-LC500...toglym+leather

Attachment:

https://detailersdomain.com/Uber-Ult...her_p_754.html

That Art of shaving stuff is nice

I'll probably look into a brush as well. I can vouch the Sonax foam is the same feel. Non-greasy and matte finish. I used to use the Lexol conditioner on the Maxima, but the smell is a bit strong.

In case you have one too, I use the BJ's wholesale club membership, and usually grab a 36-pack of MF towels for $15.

Does the smell go away, if so how long? Does the smell...smell good? I am going to give the Lexol cleaner and conditioner a shot at 1st as the amount you get for the price looks great as does the 1000s of reviews. I need to do 4 cars with full leather interiors by the end of April so the quantity and price seems like a no brainer.

I have a BJs membership but with the newborn I don't get out much so amazon is the way to go for me.

With the Lexol and the maxima you only used MF towels right? If you settle on a brush let me know. I'm worried the leath might not get agitated enough by the MF towel.
