My tranny is from the second generation (6HP28) but built on 08/2006.
HW7566895...so not suitable to flash Alpina or SAT software.

So,.. before i make a big happy jump after reading your announcement....Can my tranny be flashed with this software?

But besides all that, very very nice job from all you guys who have make this possible.

Android is an operating system, not hardware, like a phone. You can choose your hardware. You can dual boot on a PC. It's been done

Yes, get an old Android phone or tablet for a few bucks on ebay and you'll be fine. We're developing this to run on Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich), so phones/tablets from 2011/2012 will do the job. Just make sure they support the USB OTG protocol.

So the hardware list is:

- INPA cable (a good one)
- Old Android phone/tablet with USB OTG support (most do support this protocol)
- USB OTG Adapter (they are around 5 USD)

One of my developing phones for example is a Samsung GT-9100, but even older models will do the job.

Will be a lot more comfy, then carrying the laptop with you every time you want to change something.

Sadly not, that TCU is too old. Very different to the later generations. As said, there are some "transition" TCUs, which where used for a short period. There are a few TCU versions out there, even in the younger MY, but they share the memory layout, so adapting will work. The old TCU's in contrast will probably require doing the same job again. Different hardware, different program, different maps. I'm not 100% sure, when they changed the TCU hardware in production, but very likely it was 03/2007.

Not that I'm asking details for a certified-by-you INPA cable, but do you guys have recommendations?-) There seems to be a lot of choices in the usual marketplaces.

And effin' amazing that you guys got this to work, this is going to be a day1 purchase for me.

Yeah, the license will be locked to a single vehicle. If you change cars, you have to uninstall and then can use the license for another car.

Haven't compiled a list with known good cables yet, but we will come up with something.

I know N54/N55 isn't here yet, but can I make a feature request?

I'd like the TCU to request a more gradual torque (ignition timing) re-introduction from the DME after a gear shift. The DCT TCU does this.

A big problem that so many N54 AT owners fact is knock and big timing drops post-shift due to timing advance being re-introduced after a shift seemingly instantly. Nothing else seems to fix it properly.

The Onestop cable is widely known as a great INPA cable.. http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16
I Always used them and never had problems.

Hopefully they will work great with the flash?

Mik325tds, back on this post you attached a doc showing the drive cycle procedure after doing a transmission reset: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1287

I did another trans fluid change (this time without changing the pan) since I had some time, and did a fluid analysis (see attached). I have reset adaptations in the past, but never did the CRAZY drive cycle procedure... Were you able to do the full cycle all at once (and which version of the drive cycle did you do for the 335d)? And did you notice any quantifiable or beneficial changes after doing the drive cycle?

I ignored this thread for the longest time, wondering why we revived an old thread. What an amazing thing to see coming! Can't wait to get this! How do I check what transmission generation I have?
