Educate me, what is bluefin? Perhaps I missed something in the thread.
Saffa_G your car will do much better with a tune at high altitude (Viva Pretoria!) My understanding is that the superchips tune is not detectable by the dealers. I have been running a tune on my 120diesel for 3 years without any problems, servicing, maintenance plan or warranty issues.

Bluefin is a sister company to Superchips. Basically a handheld device that you can do your own Mapping with, Diagnsotics, Datalogging etc.....something I want.
Now I am not 100% sure of how it connects, but I would imagine it is via bluetooth....now I do not ahve the bluetooth connection on my car, so not sure if i am missing the point here, but will find out more!! I am saving some money up to get my blue beast modded, I cannot wait!! |

The Bluefin unit plugs in at the OBD port (below your boot release button) from there a straight connection to the ECU. You cannot change settings on the move, but can set a map for example, a track day, or more mild for long distance driving. For me it doesn't make sense why you want it anything other than "as powerful as possible!!" Thats why a remap does the trick for me!

Checking the website, I've only found info on maps for diesel bmw's? I understand it's because of the fact that the Diesels are making it easier to play with the tune.
Where's the love for the new kids on the block with turbo petrol engines?? |

Good to see a fellow Pretorian on the board. You should have a look at the Chiplogic software for your diesel. My bro in law has been running it for a while on his 320d and it hardly smokes. Most diesel cars get added power via chip with the negative of additional smoke. I ran a Chiplogic agency in Greece for four years and there product is very good with no detection hassles from the agents.

Hey George, can you get his dyno figures so we can see the gain achieved with the Chiplogic. Following my Superchip remap, I only fill up with Shell V-power. It has 50ppm Sulphur and my car smokes very little with my foot flat down. Maybe it has something to do with BMW technology, by I see very few BMW diesels smoking!
