Any info on the Turner flash?
Can anyone comment on Cobb or JBx before and after MPG? I would love to add 80hp but not at the expense of a crap-laod of MPG. Hoping there is no change unless you 'use' your right foot a ton. |

i have a friend who installed jb4 recently diference in mpg is huge, i mean comparing with stock, same with v5, but you can always turn to zero map (valet) to turn off jb4 or v5 so mpg will be like stock again

if you're driving ther car normal, you shouldn't see a decrease in MPG.
i was getting 26mpg stock, then went to JB4 and still got 26mpg. now i'm Cobb Stage 1 and will admit i get @ 23-24mpg ONLY BECAUSE the boost comes on a bit quicker and i like feeling it. when the feeling of the "new tune" goes away, i'll be back at 26mpg. on the highway nothing changed from stock, to JB4 to Cobb. |

the return policy on Dinan is actually incorrect as Dinan will not refund money on a flash because it is reported to BMW that it was installed and could void original factory warrany... believe me i know had it for 10 days and they still wouldnt return

Can we throw ours in the pot? We have quite a bit of experience with the N54, but have only now just released our own cable to be able to tune remotely. You can view the details here: http://www.evolvetuning.us/bmw/1-ser...e-stage-1.html

Dinan HP is derived from chassis dyno which is connected directly to drive axles rather than tires on rollers to eliminate slippage. Runs are in 5th gear due to 1:1 ratio in transmission...wheel hp or crank???

I just ordered a Cobb. I've been riding around with a PROcede for over a year now, will be nice to compare a flash based tune. Unfortunately, I'm not very technical when it comes to all the tunes.. but I'll be able to give a pretty good "buttdyno" impression when I get it on Friday.

Ya know, I was perfectly happy with my Dinan Stage 2, then came across this thread and am thinking again about a better tune. And how much I spent on the %$#@! Dinan tune!! Augh!

Props
AltecBX,
Great chart. I remember seeing it when you first started and it has come a long way. It is definitely a time saver for newbies. I wish there was something like this when I first got this car, but then again there wasn't much out there. This chart should be a 1st stop for anyone looking for a tune - it would stop a lot of the new threads that continuously pop-up and create more trouble than help. Anyway, just wanted to give you props for taking the time to do this. Keep up the good work. |
