So, an update to things. The XF is in the proving grounds stage, and a few weekends ago some friends of mine and I took the cars to the mountains for a weekend of twisty roads. XF is pretty competent with a lot of points in it's favor, but I think it will inevitably just be sold as a little less fun car to drive than the e91.
The e91 in acknowledgement of the generation increasingly getting crusty, has found and is sporting a ok-ish set of what would have been the factory M Sport 17" set. Somehow this makes sense to me in that as the arms raise for increased power and bold cheep styling continues the trend of a platform that is hitting the 20 year mark, going to smaller more base wheels is a deliberate choice to separate from the pack. Unfortunately, this current set isn't in the best shape, so I continue to search for the perfect 17" set for my girl Charlotte. Seats and wheels, that's my fixation... Oh, and I also want the Euro airbox instead of the M Sport carbon box as I think it looks a bit gaudy. P.S. On a side note, I did buy a set of performance catless headers, but haven't had time to think about installing them. |
