Any pictures of the turbo installed (hood open / engine bay shot)? How about underneath the car of the turbo / downpipe connection?

We are using an external wastegate. Just not dumping to atmosphere.

Love it. Nearly 500 on pure pump. I would love a turbo setup to produce 500awhp (meth if needed), and call it a day.

Impressive curves Shiv. I'm afraid that with a few more PSI available you'll also find this motor's limit. Which begs the question, how are you gauging this threshold and mitigate any potential catastrophic failure? Good contribution.

Update: I popped off my intake manifold to see how gunked up my valves were at 82k miles. And boy oh boy, they were ugly. So gummy that I reached i there with a finger and scoop out a ball off soft gunk. Made an appointment at the dealership tomorrow morning to get them cleaned with walnut shells. Once the manifold is off (about a 5 min job on my car with no intake pipes, filters, etc.,) the job is only 1-1.5hrs. So with the valves cleaned, I suspect the car will make even more power when it hits the dyno again

It's virtually impossible to determine the power limits of an engine. All you can do is make sure it is tuned well and monitor knock thresholds/temps during the entire process of making more and more power. That said, nothing that i've seen is suggesting that we are close to any physical limit. But I'm keeping my eyes open

LOL... i wish. I'm doing a bunch of long overdue maintenance work on my car (plugs, engine harness, intake valve leaning, etc,.) The engine harness is the original one that came with the car and has been probed, spliced, soldered a million times during the last 6 years of development. I think it's time she deserved a new one. Hopefully we should have all that done by days end. In which case we'll start dialing in the boost control. It's the first time we (or anyone, I think) has controlled a conventional pressure actuated wastegate in an N54 so it may take some trial and error to get it sorted. I really meant it when I said that the initial dynos were very very premature. I almost didn't even do them since there was so much other work to do. But i had what seemed like a damn fast car, a dyno not too far from me and more curiosity than a now-dead cat. I'm going make the next trip to the dyno mean something

I meant to ask you about this. Ha, that sounds terrible! Looking forward to the dyno results after they're cleaned.
