I was looking for a car (for my brother in law) and we considered E90 and F10.

Took us 2-3 months to get a car which was well loaded. Paid £18K for M sports F10 with 75K with FBMWSH. We opted for high specs car as it has memory seats, xenon, electric adjustment of steering wheel, folding mirrors, sunroof, rear cameras and panoramic view camera. As he does only 7K / year so he opted well spec'd car. In two years time he will get rid of it @90-95K miles.

In your case, you do a lot of miles so perhaps you will go for low mileage car. Consider F30 and F10. Some people on F30 forum complaint of wind noises but Sport disguise with xenon looks great especially in Estoril blue.
My first consideration was an F30 but I'm still not totally sold on it and, this will probably be my last big car before I down size, so I'm pretty set on a 520d F10, but it will have to be a well spec'd M Sport with Sport auto & B47 engine, which limits my options. I've seen quite a few reasonably well spec'd cars around the £30k mark so I've got my local dealer on the hunt something suitable.

If I swap the my CIC Nav Pro back to Business Nav, is it just a matter of swapping the Nav / DVD unit & screen back to the old business parts, and removing the emulator, or will I need coding to get it to work?

Cheers

Just swap it and it should work.
All LCI F10 comes with xenon so one thing is sorted.
Good luck with B47 engine, hope all goes well.

It has been a long time since I updated this thread.

As mentioned earlier that I was not happy with the after market reverse camera retrofit.
Therefore ordered OEM camera, module and retrofit kit.
It was fitted today and what a difference. OEM interface is much better than any aftermarket kit.

Finally, car is at that level where I wanted it to be however I am due to apply for mortgages. So I will be selling this car with all the mods.

Thanks for the compliment.

I must say I absolutely love the car. There is only one reason that I am selling it.... Low on deposit.

So two possibilities...
Car will sell and I will buy a house.

House will go before car goes and I will be keeping the car.

If its first situation, then I will be driving old bangers for 3-5 years (some financial commitments). I have another car (Yaris) so that will do for another year. Then perhaps Mondeo for 3-4 years and hopefully back to German cars.

Seems silly but sometimes you have to let the car go for better things.

It's a lovely motor so I'm sure it will sell easily. Sometimes these things have to happen. I've done the same in the last when financially needed the capital.

I succumbed to F10 temptation and absolutely no regrets, build, fit and finish et al are so much better than my old e90 and it's a joy to drive

It'll be a wrench to see such a lovely car go Sam but onwards and upwards!

Thanks for the compliment. Bit reassuring. There is limited market for 2 liter cars. Shame that my brother in law paid 18K for similar specs car only 2 months ago. If we knew this situation, he could have bought mine. If you can buy the car, seriously go for it. It will take me few years to come back to this level.
Edited: Can reduce the price for a forum member.

PS: Thanks for M sports feedback.

I can buy the car, but the wife would have my nuts big time...

I was in your postion a few years ago, i had to get rid of my Porsche to help fund my house..It will come good again and you'd struggle to sleep in a car.

The house is always the winner over sell or not to sell a car, but you already know that if your having to sell such a nice F10...

Very happy with folding mirrors and dip on reverse is very useful if you have immaculate wheels
Been looking at an F11 but unfortunately folding mirrors are missing. Makkan, what's the circa price of parts to retrofit (car without memory seats) and could you do this ?

I paid £370 for mirrors and switch.
Add coding and fitting and you are talking about £500 mark.
Not a cheap retrofit but it saves my £1k wheels from kerbing.

Yes, I can fit and code them on f1x without memory seats.

Great thanks Makkan. Guess at those prices they are used items.

Seen a LCI pair on the bay for £450 in Grey but the car is white on a 62 Reg. Could I use the existing mirrors covers. Tempting to make an offer on the car as he seems desperate to sell.

Yes mate. As far as they are pre-lci then you can swap the covers.
Mind you that lci mirrors have indicators and that may not fit on the car.

And yes that was for used parts.
