Hi, Ken:

I'm interested to see the results of your project, but is there any feasible way you could re-install the RR550s after the head swap.

It would be helpful to understand the impact the head has by itself instead of speculation of how much the 650/750s are actually contributing vs. the modified head in your end result.

Thanks!

Would be cool, but not possible. I don't have the time or money.

I'm not good at guessing power because there are many factors to take into consideration, but I would assume you could see 500 without much effort. Again, no guaranties because too many factors... Mods, Fuel, Condition...

Ha! If I could right now, I'd be the one documenting FBO + 93 -> Meth -> ethanol blends!

Having dropped money on Ohlins, Wavetrac, M3 suspension everything, TMS bushings, bla bla bla, I'm kinda strapped for dough on the car lol.

I will say that I've lost all interest in RB and VTT because of their horrible failure rates and lack of longevity beyond a few months. I'm going to either go with these or Pure in the near future, I think one of my wastegates is venting improperly

These are pretty tempting for the price and I run 93 only so far. E85 isn't so plentiful around here that a daily E85 tune is convenient. If I were convinced that ~450WHP with no meth or ethanol would be a matter of course, I'd be inclined to grab a set. I'm guessing they'd still need to be spun up pretty good for that though, which doesn't make it any easier on 93 only.

Sure would be nice if anyone with a set already got off the meth/corn/any additional fuel injection for a tank and posted some numbers and logs

Assuming you had the appropriate bolt-on mods, don't see why you couldn't achieve 450whp on 93. I made well over 500awhp with only 91 +E35

Sounds like with supporting mods, along with a proper tune and 93oct, close to 500 rwhp may be in the realm of possible.

Mostly because E85 makes the impossible possible, regardless of what your base fuel is. If you were making over 400WHP on straight 91, I'd be more optimistic E85 in any reasonable amount lets people get away with things they otherwise wouldn't be able to on a pretty high order. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park to hit that 500+. Take away a coupe psi right off the bat for straight 93 and it's probably close to peaking around 460-475 before even talking about timing or AFR.

Either way, I think it could be close. I'm tempted, but haven't talked myself into it yet

93 only, glory run in 5th gear one time maybe, with a lot of boost and no timing. 91+ 5-7 gallons of E85 is grossly superior to straight 93.

I'm just waiting on a new charge pipe and BOV so I can get my meth running properly. Then we can see what they do with straight 94 and then 94/Meth.

Any updates?

My installer stated my car should be done by Monday. Unfortunately I have surgery on Tuesday so I won't be able to get dyno's done maybe until Friday. I'm going to dyno on:
-93 oct
-93 + meth
-e85 mix
-e85 mix + meth

I will make my own thread once they are installed. I also plan on being a beta for the new hexons so in a few weeks when those come in I will install those so we can get some real comparison data between the 550's and the new turbos they have to offer.

Just curious what tune you plan on running for Dyno day? How much boost? Also if you run MHD do you plan on running Maxboost?

Straight 93
93+ Meth
E85 mix
E85+ Meth

I will also use a mhd backend on each of them
