Are your fenders rolled or pulled or anything? Camber plates up front?

Saw a few of your posts back when your fronts were at an et23. Any rubbing now that you're at et20?

Thinking about getting ARC-8s in 19x8.5 et20 since I'm lowered as well but not sure if it would fit.

Hi guys, I asked this question elsewhere but thought might get a better response here as it seems that lots of people here are very knowledgeable. So here goes..

So I got rid of my M3 a few months ago and have a 440i xDrive GC at the moment. I kept my winter tires from the M3 which I had installed on the OEM 19" rims of the M3. They are a square setup of 255 (I will get the exact specs when I get out to storage). My 440 has OEM M rims that are also 19", it has both M Perf packages so the the M rims as well. That car also has that blue M brake.

I am wondering if my winter tires with 255 square setup will fit on the 440's OEM rims? Doing some research when buying tires the size that automatically shows up for 440 is 225/255 or something like that, but I don't see why the 255 all around won't work?

I am not sure what the width of stock M rims for 440 is and if 255 is too wide? If this doesn't work I can look for an aftermarket winter rims set and if that's the case what width/offset and all that rims should I be looking for? Point is that I'd like to use the winter tires instead of having to buy new ones.

Thanks guys.

255 is fine on the 8.5" rear M rims however it is too wide for the 8" front rims.

the aftermarket wheel specs you should get for your 255 square winter set is 19x8.5" or 19x9", +35ish

Thank you for your help. I will look up some rims online that I am considering and post the specs before confirming.

My guess is if the rear rims are 9.5" width the 255 tires won't fit on them? There's a set locally which is 8.5" front and 9.5" rear.

255 fits on 9.5 (stretching just 10mm). 255 also fits on 8.5, (oversize or bulging just 10mm). Functionally this WILL work. Aesthetically it is somewhat opposite of the norm, but whose looking when there's ice and snow on the wheels and tires anyhow?

Hmm maybe easier to just go this way then. The local set is VMR and Orange in colour so not exactly my first choice for a mineral grey 440 but the convenience factor is huge. Plus I don't know anything about the make of the rims and all that.

Here's what that is:

VMR makes decent wheels but don't buy those. they were fixed, orange and you'll be unable to sell them later.

if you are going to spend that much there are lots of other new choices that are decently priced shipped to your door. the konigs below are cast (23.75lbs). the tsw bathurst are rotary forged a few lbs lighter (21lbs) with stronger barrels.

https://www.amazon.com/Konig-OVERSTE...5+5x120+wheels

https://www.amazon.com/TSW-BATHURST-...athurst+wheels

also, in the future, consider opening up a new thread as we've temporarily hi-jacked this thread

Hehe! Good idea. I will open a new thread with a few options that I am contemplating and perhaps yourself and other people can comment and provide feedback on what I should go with. I am looking at 1010tires.com which is Canadian and we don't screwed on extortionate pricing for shipping and taxes. Since I am only getting rims and for winter I want to keep it around the $1K range.

PS: Those Konig's look nice but do not ship to Canada as is the case with most of the nicely priced rims in the US.

Looks amazing! Any risk of rubbing at current height or lower?

Thank you! Not at all! I even had the car completely full with 4 passengers, driving from San Diego to Los Angeles. Not one rub surprisingly. Probably once I add the front lip, it might cause some scrape issues, but I'm fine with that lol.
