I'm 100% on that statement when it comes to desserts or baked good. Every once in a while i'll buy a cookie out when it looks awesome. But even when it's good, it's not really comparable to what the wife bakes.

But with regards to a good burger, there is a new place that opened up near us called Black Rock. It's a chain, but i think there are only a few locations. We've been 4 times and the burgers have been great each time. I've been getting the 1/2 pound angus with a fried onion ring, bacon, pepper jack cheese and BBQ sauce. (on the side) Their fries are really good and they have sweet potato fries which the wife likes.

Did you just confirm that food is not good in Florida?

Cookies? I can agree that homemade cookies could be amazing.

Homemade croissants, breads, and other bakery items? I am not sure that I could replicate the procedure.

I think I just need to actually follow recipes to the T, haha

No!! Geez.

Breads can be more difficult because what we're used to tasting in regards to croissants, delicate pastries, etc... are typically made in large batches and they are difficult to replicate in small batches.

But you're right, find the right recipe and stick to it and it'll be good. The wife has been dabbling in favored olive oils and some of the stuff she's come up with has been fantastic. Last week i had the best pork chops i've ever had. Paired with Israeli couscous. Good seasoning, meat rub, etc... is really what makes it i think.

Had Shake Shack recently in Glendale. I think it's a bit overrated. I'd rather walk across the street and get some In-N-Out instead.

Favorite chicken sandwich.

Plan Check - Southern Fry
Smokey fried jidori chicken, spicy green pimento cheese, duck breast ham, pickles

Favorite Burger just because it's tasty and messy.

The Standing Room - Napoleon
Bacon, Caramelized Onion, Smoked Gouda, Cheddar, American, Fried Egg, Spring Mix, topped with Braised Short Rib, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Tomato Jam, Korean Aioli

Anyone who lives in Arizona knows about Rehab Burger. Its ranked best burger in arizona, and a lot of the national lists as well. If you live here, you need to check it out! And if you find yourself visiting AZ, seek it out and give it a try. You will not be disappointed. They have a peanut butter and jelly bacon burger with siracha sauce. It doesnt sound that great, but its amazing!

Also, they have special burgers that they do just for the weekend, and it changes every week.

MELT Gourmet Cheeseburgers is a local joint in Leesburg, VA
Ranked Top 10 Burgers in the USA from a number of different websites.
Locally sourced ground meat blend for the burgers, homemade buns daily, lots of great burger combinations, fries, adult milkshakes, etc - blows me away every time we go.

For burger chains - BGR, The Counter, and Fosters Grille are usually safe bets for me. I've never been a big fan of Five Guys (and the original location is in my hometown...), and it always makes me feel like I need a shower afterwards due to how greasy everything is there.
