The stupidest things we did for love

In middle school I had a huge crush on this girl. She was throwing this big time birthday party and I got invited. I was so excited because she pretty much had no idea who I was but I figured if I got just the right gift I could get her attention. I then realized that I had absolutely no idea what to get a middle school girl for their birthday.... so I asked my Mom. My Mom worked for Mary Kay so of course she says "you should get her a make up set!". I had no idea, so I figured why not...Girls love make up, right?! I was all excited because I figured "man, the other guys are going to get her some STUPID present... I have this totally BADASS make up kit!". Feeling super cocky I lined up to give her the gift and she took one look at it, gave a half ass "oh..thanks" and set it aside. The next week at school I am now the total fruit cake guy who is into make up. Totally backfired. Not love - still sucked.
