The only mod that O2 sensors will recognize is catless DP's, what happens later in the exhaust doesn't matter in this sense. Unless there is O2 sensors also after the secondary cats...

Right... so here's a stupid question. I got a 2W 2.2kOhm and a 4W 10kOhm resistor. Acceptable? No problem with wattage difference?

Here's a little trick that helped me do this mod this weekend. There were long leads on the resistors I bought at Radio Shack. You can cut them down but leave enough to tuck into the wire insulation to hold the resistor in place while you solder it. You can do this on both ends.
Ran the car good after doing this with my new catless DP's and it ran code free! ![]()

I'm working on a solution for that.. However, BMS has released a new unit that is adjustable.
I will create a little DIY for you guys that have the new DME's like I do. My 2008 was much more friendly DME wise than my 2009 ![]() Stay tuned...

Hope this question was never asked b4 in this thread:
Does the normal O2 simulator which is bought disable giving signals to the ECU or does it do the same as Vishnu's method. Basically I'm concerned with what happens if the car really face an emissions-induced problem and the car doesn't throw a code. |

How would this work on a N/A engine?
Pretty sure this is the same concept that goes into this box that sells for $180:
How would this work on an N/A engine without the special harness you have for your turbo cars? Going off these instructions for the N52 engine?: How would this DIY work on an N/A engine without using the special harness you have for your turbo cars? I am resurrecting this thread. I have a 06 330i e90 and I will be doing this soon. I will be going into the dme since I doneed have a process harness. According to Bently the 60002 connector has the o2 sensor wires. The wires for the bank 2 sensors are pins 5, 7, and 9 are bank 2 sensor 1 inputs, pins 19, 24, and 25 are bank 2 sensor 2 input. Bank 2 sensor 1 ground is 11. There is not a ground listed for bank 2 sensor 2 but I am thinking it is 24 because the other two sensor grounds are next to each other and the bank 1 sensor 2 ground is 23.
My question is, does it matter which input wires I use as long as I include one wire from each sensor, and can I use any of the sensor grounds wires to attach the ground wire? Someone please help |

I am running hassmachines tune. In this post he mentions using pins 19 and 20 in the x60002 connector. In Bentley, it lis to pin 20 as input o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2, and 19 as input o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2. I do not know anything at all about wiring, I get the concept but do not completely understand exactly how it works, but I am thinking I would not want to use any wire for the bank 1 o2 sensors.

I went to dealership and confirmed for the msv70 that pins 19 and 20 are the pins used for the sim. Also learned that BMW left information out of Bentley so it is not always correct. This explains why the pinout in Bentley is incorrect as far as the downstream sensors are concerned.
