Hey Hamachi,

NYKs website says Hojins ETA for Hueneme is the 5th. It says ETS (s??) is 9/10. I've watched it on vesseltracker (2 hr delay?) the past couple days and it pulled into the port from the west yesterday.

My 800# and OC say at the port. I emailed my CA, but he's out of the office for a couple days. I guess the WW ship arriving 10/6 is basically the same timeframe. Looks like East coast folks will get theirs way before ours (barring import issues mentioned earlier in this thread).

I just emailed my CA and asked to give me the date when I can pick it up the car. I'm not so much concerned when it arrives in the states, just when I can actually pick her up! haha.

I guess you and I will be tracking our cars together!

Port of Hueneme is located in Oxnard, CA, which is about an hour north of LA. The vehicle will pass through customs there and will be transported north to the Bay via truck.

I should also add that, if my experience with receiving my Mini is any indication (which it should be, since Mini delivered to the same port and then to the dealer, which is adjacent to the BMW dealer), it takes about one week from the time the ship docks to the time your car is ready for pick up.

I don't know what ship my car will be on. Hojin has left the port already, headed West it seems. When the schedule is updated, you will see Hojin listed here: http://www.portofhueneme.org/home.php

neither WW or NYKs site shows my vin, not a good sign..

Holy $#@! I just installed the free Vesseltracker Google Earth File (from www.vesseltracker.com). I'm not any ship yet (still in Paint Shop), so I started looking for the HOJIN just for kicks. The Vesseltracker Google Earth shows the HOJIN entering the harbor at Emden, not leaving it, but since this is the free version of the tracker it contains a delay of up to 24 hours. I wonder where the ship really is....

Came into work this morning and received some slightly bad news...

"it will take apprx 25 days to get here....but those hurricanes can cause the ships to go around and may take a bit longer."

DAMN MOTHER NATURE!! haha.

Yes, I switched over to ""released to carrier & awaiting transportation to the port of exit" at least... (so maybe I was sitting in the back of the lot from last week!)

I'm "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel" but "there's no shipping information." I don't know what the delay with your car was, WDW, as mine went straight from the factory on to a train and is now at the dock. For what it's worth, the status that you're getting should be changed by tomorrow, as it took only one day for my car to go from "released to carrier" to "being transported to port of exit".

i think the cars have to be preped before they board the vessel. so even if it arrives at the port, it takes a few days to get on the boat.

What kind of preping are they doing?

I thought they just put air in the tires (50psi?) and locked the shocks (?) or something like that.

That's all I heard when I first got my GTO shipped from Australia.

That status took a day for mine to change, but "being transported to the port of exit" took a few days.
I'm thinking about adding the M aero front lip an the port in NY since labor is cheaper than at the dealer, but I dont want it to be delayed even more and I guess I can get it cheaper from a member on the board and give it to BMW to install.

It was neither actually, my CA told me. But now that you have reminded me, I will double check
using that ship tracker/VIN # looker up link.

Hm, I just ran my VIN # through the ship tracking site and nothing showed up

I tried entering the whole VIN then just the last 7 digits but neither worked. Am I doing it right?

My car is now allegedly complete. 800-BMW humans say Production is complete. This coincides with what I had been told by 800-BMW humans and 800-BMW robots all week - i.e. that my car would be completed on 9/12. 800-BMW robots still say "your vehicle is being assembled, with an estimated completion date of 9/12". Only strange thing was this morning the 800-BMW humans claimed my car had not started production yet, even though yesterday they said it was in the paint shop, and even after double-checking they stuck to their story!

OC still says "01 Schedule for Production" of course, and lists all options properly except for the omission of both Logic7 and Smartphone Integration.

I can't wait for it to get on a ship so I can start tracking the boat on it's way to Oxnard.

Does anyone know the option code or how to order the port-installed BMW Alarm? My CA cannot find any information on it....

I am soooo hoping that my car is going to be on a ship either the 16th or the 19th. If I can make it one of those ships, they're slated to arrive October 11th - 13th!

This means that I can hopefully take delivery of the car by October 20th!
