I am very happy for Wafik that his situation has now been resolved to his satisfaction. It speaks volumes of the intervention that Darren has made to see that Wafik's issues are addressed rapidly and without causing any further stress and anger.

Having spoken to Darren previously, it is apparent that there have been serious issues within the service management at Harold Wood and I am happy to hear that these issues are being dealt with and a new structure is being put in place within the next few days. I do hope Sytner Harold Wood will start to turn a much needed corner and offer a service standard in keeping with the BMW brand.

Nevertheless, it is important to highlight that although Wafik's personal situation has been resolved, this in no way absolves Sytner Harold Wood of the dreadful service and woeful workmanship that they produced over the course of not only Wafik's problems, but also those of other forum members. Just because one situation has been resolved in the public domain does not give Sytner the right for this issue to be swept away and removed from sight in order to improve public perception.

The only way for Sytner Harold Wood to become a reputable and reliable place to service a BMW in the eyes of this forum is for the new management to do as they have been instructed, turn that dealership around, and the results shown to the public by way of genuine forum reports and reviews.

I have changed the title of this thread to reflect that the issues herein have been resolved satisfactorily. I do wish Darren, and the new team at Sytner Harold Wood, all the very best in rebuilding their service standards first, and consequently their image

Hi Tony

Thanks for changing the title of the thread. It's much appreciated.

I totally agree with everything you say.

Now that I am a member of this forum I will be looking foward to the day when members are posting positive things about HW- that will only be possible if we deliver, so the challenge has been laid down by me to the team at HW to make this happen.(and quickly)

The new Aftersales Manager starts on Wednesday.
I have signed off the (new additional position of) Service Manager role and interviews are underway.
An additional experienced service advisor starts soon
A new Senior Tech starts soon.

Still much to do, but I can really feel the difference when I walk in there now.

And thank you to the other members of the forum for letting me know of the issues that they had- without your views, would I have ever known that was the genuine feeling about HW out there? probably not.

Thanks again
Darren

M3 vert is my choice. ps I still say go for the red!!

I really pleased you got things sort in the end Walfik, I too have had a less then professional experience with Sytner Harold wood, albeit much less then your debacle.

After test driving a used 335i coupe with them one Sunday, I went away to consider the purchase of said car, I sold my Cayman S the very same afternoon by phone, so the following morning phoned HW to secure the deal, only to be told they had sold the car in question, fair enough I thought, but then to be told it was sold while I was test driving it, this displeased me no end, as I’d let the Porsche go £400 less than I wanted for a quick sale and to give me the green light to buy the 335i.

So the salesman in question must have gone through the motions while I was still sitting in the dealers, knowing the car had gone, it makes sense now why he kept referring to another identical car (all but colour) at another dealership.

Avoiding pot holes and driving slowly over speed bumps has been the advice to avoid further instances.

I have seen the "cracked alloys" sticky above. I guess we will have to see what the outcome of this is.
Sorry for the slight hijack. It's great that Darren has joined up and is happy to hear good and bad but on the subject of cracked 225M alloys BMW UK's stance that "it's the fault of RFTs and poor roads" is a cop-out. They know the market in which they are selling and if these wheel and tyre combinations are unsuitable for UK roads they should not sell them. At the very least they should draw the customers attention to the issues pre-purchase.

Should you ever discuss this issue Darren with anyone from BMW UK you can tell them this in terms of customer retention: I have purchased five BMWs, all brand-new, in the past but because of BMW's disgusting stance on poor sods with wrecked £300 wheels, through no fault of their own, I shall not be buying another BMW again.
