Getting between 44 - 47mpg out of a 320d E92 manual ED mainly around town and with short runs with the ever so slightly irritating Stop/Start thing active.
Longer Motorway runs at 70mph are seeing averages of 55-58mpg

Dorset to the NEC, onto Lincoln and back home to Dorset, 46.9mpg, and went up to 49.5 on the roadworks on the A46. First time I have reset the average speed and fuel consumption in 9000 miles, It was showing 40.9mpg over town and b road driving before I reset it.

E90 - 320d - 2007 - Manual - 43.1 mpg
Can't quite fathom why i am not getting higher than this as vast majority of mileage is on motorway and dual carriageway. |

E90 330i m sport - 2006 - 25mpg over 5k mostly short runs 40mph driving.
It will push low 30s on a run, but driving frugally in it really pees me off ! it loves the revs ! |

Just to get my fuelly sig in the thread - 2007 330d auto - first couple of tanks were 37ish mpg, then it went into the dealer to have its wiper sorted out with the OBC showing 37mpg, and came out showing 32...
I think they must have left it running with the aircon going full whack for an hour while they looked at it... Twunts. Hopefully back up to something a bit more sensible when I next fill up Edit: This is a mostly a 20 mile trip each way to work, 5 miles across town then 15 on an empty motorway at 70mph. Maybe once a week to the shops.

Had a 2008 E91 318i ED for a few weeks now. Getting:
43mpg average. Mix of town and country (A/B roads) driving (30% town 70% country). Got 47mpg today on a pure country run with a quick trip into town. Pretty good for 2.0L petrol estate car really.... |

Had my 325d nearly a fortnight now. 800 miles or so on it and averaging 48.7........have seen it up at 49.5 for a while. Mixture of town and motorway driving and admittedly running-in mode but impressive for a 3 litre.

Your doing it right!
My average over 15 months and 22k miles (£6.5k spent on petrol ) is exactly 20mpg. OBC reads, on average, 1.3mpg over actual.

OBC read 14.3 so not too far off.
