Now I'm trying to go back to "stock" 90Ah, it won't do no matter what I do. The FSW_PSW.MAN file stays saved with 90Ah value. But I noticed FSW_PSW.TRC file goes right back to 80Ah in the .TRC file when I execute the changed .MAN file. How is that possible the .TRC file gets changed back when I "execute" the program? I'm not reading the code at this point. |

Hey everyone-
I had a question regarding battery registration, as I can't seem to find this info... I replaced the battery in my '06 325i about a year ago, but at the time did not know about battery registration. Given that the new battery wasn't registered then, would it be possible or beneficial to register it now? Or is it too late and I just need to wait until it is replaced? I do have a diagnostic software package with DIS, INPA, etc... Thanks- |

I sure did. You mean in the .TRC -> .MAN file?
Can't remember all the steps right now but yes. The stock value was 90Ah. Went pretty smooth the first time from 90Ah to 80Ah. But the other way is not happening. The FSW_PSW.TRC file value goes back to 80Ah no matter what I do. The FSW_PSW.MAN file stays with 90Ah...And this is the file that supposed push to DME... I'm like hell leave it as it is. It's doing OK and no problems... |

Johnson Controls supposed to make it so only thing I can get my hands on is their AGM(mine is flooded) comparable H8 batt which is 160RC. Which is 95Ah.
I'm pretty set on that it should be coded as 90Ah. 95Ah is not an option from the PDF instruction so close is 90. |

Then Tool32 to register it. Then verify the Ah in INPA(IBS). There's PDF instruction on page 3 of this thread. Better know the Ah value of your battery before jumping on. |

- Code control unit, allow ZCS reading, - Expertmode That's all. It doesn't show FSW PSW profile you are referring to. What do I need to do to get the FSW PSW profile to come up? |

This is what I got, so have the battery been registered? The OEM battery and the aftermarket one are both 80Ah (E90 325i N52)

But do you know why the value is -1 instead of 1 like the other ones I see online? Is it because I didn't turn on engine and just leave the key in ignition? |

I would reconsider purchasing that battery for a couple of reasons...
If you read through the customer Q&A on Walmart's web site, the "verified representatives from EverstartExpert" will through out various numbers...76Ah, 80Ah, etc. Same thing for cold cranking amps, they're all over the map. If they don't know, who can you believe? Furthermore, that battery is a H8/L5/49 size battery (the largest that will fit in the battery compartment.) Getting the hold down clamp reinstalled will be a pain. I picked up an 80Ah AGM battery (P/N 61-21-2-353-813) from the dealer. For a difference of $93.97, it's superior technology (AGM) and it's smaller (H7.) It's a tight fit and the smaller size makes it easier to install. If you decide to go with an AGM battery, be sure to code it and register it.

Registration doesn't require any input of specifications. If the old battery was a 80Ah flooded battery (like the EverStart), just register it and you will be good to go.
