I agree, but our 335i's are to the M3 of BMW as to the GT of the GT500 to Ford...base model or not their equal teirs of their manufacturers. Either way, the 335i has great potential for what it is and offers. BUT, the new 5.0 offers more potential power, but less overall luxury so that's what brought me to the 335i...quick, mpg, and luxury. I can deal with recalls to an extent...every brand has their faults.

My wife was sick of the uncomfortable seats and ride of my previous muscle cars. Wife happy=happier me . After many ground pounding straight lined ''American Muscle," this 335i has been a nice daily driver.

i agree.

if the gas mileage wasn't so bad in my SRT8, i'd get a 392 SRT8300.

the SRT8 has been the best vehicle i've ever owned, believe it or not.

zero mechanical/electrical issues, powerful, very smooth and the interior (mostly the seats) are a dream come true.

i also like the E90 - that's why i will be letting go of the SRT8 to get one by the end of the year.

it's just the fact that i have never seen so many people on one forum have "tunnel vision" on one particluar car.

It wasn't always this way. Back when the 335 first came out, it really was one of the best options in its price range from a livable performance standpoint. There were a TON of evo/sti/Z/G/stang/S2K converts here (much to the chagrin of the badge-loving aristocracy). A lot of the cars that people believe to be superior now weren't out then (B8 S4 and the 5.0 come to mind first). Meanwhile, those people who bought their 335s in the first year or two have moved on to greener pastures and aren't here to keep the badgewhores in check.

Although, a lot of the originals can be found elsewhere, if you catch my drfit.

That is all that I was trying to say.

When I said I don tknow how they cpmpare, I meant how they compare to older mustangs, not M3.

And trust me on this one, I am not a a mindless BMW badge freak that thinks BMW engineers shit doesnt stink. I know the problems that these cars have and have dealt with them since the first year they came out. I have bajnged heads with BMWNA I can safely say that they would be happy if I bought anything but a BMW.
I would have but I could not find anything that had the performance mixed with luxury in the price range.
It is not the best care in the world, it has problems but for the price it is pretty good.

at the end of the day they are all just cars, some nicer some not so nice, but if you drive it and it makes you smile then thats all that matters. You are the one driving it and if the other persons car makes them smile, thats great, even if you dont like it. They are driving it, not you. So if you dont like the other persons car dont get one(they might not like your car either) but dont need to whip it out and piss a circle every time someone mentions another car or tune or anything else.
Now everyone hold hands and sing kumbaya, koombayaaa, koombuyah or however the hell you spell the damn song.

yeah, as long as the car reacts in a very positive and exhilerating manner when i hit the go pedal, i'm all for it.

i will NEVER, EVER, drive a slow car again.

i just can't handle that shit.
