Hi guys,
Peak hp is at 6000rpm, not 7000rpm, for a number of reason. The primary reason has to do with the volumetric efficiency of this particular motor. Another word for volumetric efficiency is pumping efficiency. No engine is a perfect pump. That is, with every rotation, the engine will not fill up with the same amount of air. Even if boost is constant, there will be certain RPM ranges that result in better cylinder filling than other. This has a lot to do with the cam profile and valve timing behavior. With the N54 engine, best cylinder filling occurs at low to mid RPM. The worst at high rpm (above 6000rpm). Turbo efficiency is a factor, of course. But just one of them. FWIW, I don't know of ANY turbo engine that holds peak power to max revs while still offering reasonable boost response.

Do you recommend short shifting then with v2?

I know this doesnt really apply to this thread but i still have not been charged for the V2... I ordered it on the release day at 12:01pm... I also ordered the Procede on 3/26/07... I was told that i would have it by now and i havent even been charged... I have a lot of performance mods on my car and i want V2 so i can possibly get the car dyno tuned... Great job on breaking 400whp... I think my car can do better with my current mods on 100oct but not on 1.47

Shiv,

Was the map changed at all with V2 to adjust with 98oct? Im assuming you have to, right?

Did you run the exact map that customers are getting with this dyno pull is what im basically asking.

Any dyno's on that?
Nothing. v2.0.2 and the race map are 2 different maps.

v2.0.2 Runs fine on 91 octane.

What about the turbos found in the 997 turbo? I know that those turbos are not available aftermarket yet but just curious.

Congrats on 400 whp!!

I think on echoing everyone's next question, when will we get to see what kind of track numbers this produces? With or without LSD.

And Shiv, spill the beans about the other thing you're controlling, please?!? My guesses:

1) VANOS
2) Throttle plate
Thats a nada on the VANOS. Digital outputs are all tied up with boost control now.

Variable turbo geometry. Spools like a small turbo, yet stays efficient in the upper RPM's. Good stuff:

When they get this tuning into the hands of one of their elite fanboy testers. So basically none of us "peons" will see this for, oh, about another 6 months if all goes according to their previous releases.

Well... yes and no. IF vanos control made a large improvement shiv could use the road speed digital IO for it...

Damn guess its time a procede with more IOs lol

Maybe...if you have LSD and DRs. Traction is key with all this power.

Maybe, just maybe, Shiv knows something that others don't. Just saying it's possible.

So why are a couple AA XEDE guys saying their custom tuned AA XEDE 335i's are seeing max HP @ redline? Just out of curiosity.

i'd love to see a n54 with a gt40 on it or even a 60-1! id love to have power up top instead of this midrange crap. I guess ive been driving too many jap cars so im addicted to top end. lol i miss my 4g63 with 60-1... nothing like 500hp at 9500rpm! lol again on a built motor and 110 octane and meth injected. hehehe
