Isn't it the other way around. For 98% of people who's stock diverter valves don't leak the BOV does absolutely nothing (over factory DVs) but make noise, look cool and add another $200-260 to your charge pipe cost. The pipe adds reliability and meth bung(s) both of which are more useful/used 10x over the necessity of a BOV. I want the cool noises so I'm going to get one but I don't actually feel like I'm upgrading anything by using a BOV.

Only time getting a BOV or upgraded DV does anything is when your stock DV are leaking. You really won't know they are leaking unless they are leaking so bad you get a 30FF or you pressure test them (they could potentially be slightly leaking but not enough to trigger a 30FF underboost code.

Other reasons people get an upgraded DV or BOV is for looks or sound.

+1 my oem DVs weren't holding boost and sounded like shit so I felt the need to upgrade to a Tial which isn't "look at me" loud. Guess they both have equal purpose depending on which fails first. My charge pipe was holding boost fine.

Off topic but what psi do you normally upgrade your charge pipe and tbh I don't really like what the tial bov sounds like, what other options do you recommend ?

Typically anyone who has a tune will potentially find their stock charge pipe to fail at some point as it's plastic and prone to cracking. (there are a few instances where people have a lot of miles and haven't seen them fail but they are few and far between). The biggest problem when a charge pipe fails is you have no boost and also no filtration of air.

There is HKS which is a bit louder then the Tial. I don't recommend the Synapse as of lately because we've had a lot of failures and Synapse was not warrantying their product so we discontinued offering them.

Other then that the only other BOV is Active Autowerke but you need to use their charge pipe for that.

For the record, this is NOT a plug and play system! It takes quite a bit of muscle and even more patience to get things put into place!...

What did you have to modify to install this? You shouldn't have had to modify anything to correctly install.

I just installed mine last night and had absolutely zero issues. It actually fit perfect. What did you have trouble with? PM me if you need any help.

I agree with you there, but that alone doesn't make it a non p&p installation.

I installed mine on Friday, after having it for a few weeks and it went in without any major modification. So yeah, I would say this is plug and play. I didn't have any issue with the TiAL valve either.

1/8" to 1/4" vacuum fitting works fine. Didn't touch the nipple on the manifold at all.

I've installed 3 of these so far, we definitely need to include an adapter and a vacuum line but aside from that it's a slip on affair. It does take a bit extra effort to go on the TB since we're using a thicker o-ring for an increased seal but it shouldn't take more than a bit of wiggling to get it in place

I had a issue running the VRSF 5" intercooler on a otherwise stock car, after everything is put together the automatic transmission cooler rubs and starts to cut into the cold side lower elbow, this is with the OEM N54 plastic lower charge pipe or the upgraded pipe they sell, I'm not sure if most of you guys are not running into this issue because you have a upgrade upper charge pipe which has a much shorter boot and will pull the lower pipe in more giving more clearance.

I put 4 nylon washers in between the trans cooler and radiator housing to push it back and give a little more clearance until I do the upper pipe upgrade.

I think this is a good idea. You really only need like a foot of the 1/4" vacuum. A plastic 1/8" to 1/4" vacuum fitting works well. I was missing one worm clamp for the caps, but I had one sitting around.

I'm really happy with mine. T bolt clamps are awesome. I did drop one of the nuts into the abyss, but had a spare 10mm.

5" intercooler is next for me.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I was really confused at first. HeavyMetalRocker pointed me to a good solution with the vacuum fitting for 1/8" to 1/4".

Here is some pictures of my set up. I had to buy a vacuum hose and adapter shown in the pictures. One of the clamps for the two plugs was missing too.
fitment was spot on and install was a breeze!
