True. I just received it a few days ago as a wedding anniversary gift from the wife. It's time will come soon!

Yup it is. It make perfectly round ice balls. Keep it cool with minimal "meltage".

Fun fact: This was my wedding gift from my wife.

Sipped some Hornitos Black barrel tonight. Tough when u look at a skull shot glass that looks like a deep amber whiskey then get tequila.

Would drink another bottle

Shared this last night with a couple of drinking buddies. (Not me in the background.) One of the guys found it in a store in Lavonia GA, about 10 miles from the GA - SC border of all places, just sitting on the shelf. Probably paid too much for it, but hey, it was right there on the shelf. 4 of us split the cost, and the bottle. We all thought it was worth it as a "bucket list" bourbon.

Depends on how much you paid for it, but I agree, if it wasn't astronomical I would've bought it, too.

On a similar note - I found of bottle of that IW Harper 15 year from your photo in a shop in DC for ~$55/bottle. It's more like $75-80 here in CLT.

I just opened my first bottle of High West's Midwinter Night's Dram (Act 5, Scene 1) and that whiskey is spectacular. Worth it if you can score for ~$100 or under.

We paid a lot for it, $900, could probably have found it for less somewhere, but it was an impulse purchase on the part of the guy who saw it and bought it, and it was right before Christmas, so we treated ourselves. We tried the I W Harper that night as well, and all of us thought the Harpers was very good, but liked the Pappy's a whole lot more. The only other thing I've had that I think comes close to the Pappy was a bottle of Jack Daniels Sinatra Century, which was a retirement gift from people I used to work with. There's probably a lot of others that are as good or better than the JD's, but I just haven't had them, yet. One person said I shouldn't drink The Sinatra Century, but save it because it would double in value in a couple years, my response was that the only value to me was in drinking it, and enjoying it. Which I did!

Had this the other day. It was pretty damn good. A hint of citrus flavor and has a good bite/crisp.

If you want another, you can find them for around 400 on the secondary market.

I think I'll stick to more reasonably priced bottle for a while, maybe save up for next Christmas

New addition to the collection

Had this at the Jim Beam Distillery last year and didn't grab a bottle, but lucked out and came across one here in the great white north....one of the best bourbons I've had.

So WTF is a tomahawk as a drink? I know what the steak version is, but had a dream last night and my spirit guide was ordering us tomahawks. Woke before could sample.

NEVER eat peanut brittle right before bed. Oh, the colors. . . .

Ouch. That's about double the going rate in the secondary market for Lot B.

Glad you got a chance to try it and enjoy it, however!

Just got a bottle of Pogues Irish whiskey - couldn't resist subsidizing them, even if it is a bit of a gimmick. Gonna have a Sean McGowan tribute Xmas eve party (but without the obligatory loss of teeth).
