Big news comes out on weekends for a reason : so people can't overreact and panic sell, driving a bigger drop. I expect the downgrade was priced in this week. Sell rumor buy news? I dunno, but I'm holding ERX and SPXU right now. What'll be really interesting is the bond market.

An extreme thought, but this might be to cause panic. The day after the debt deal was made markets fell after everyone thought they'd go up. Hopefully the same thing happens now except that there won't be that much of a drop. I'm not really believing myself though.

I don't expect it to be that bad. Wall street might be down 3% at the most tomorrow. Seriously, this isn't completely unexpected, we've know this all week and that's why the markets were shit.

That is just the beginning. Big boys exiting before the little boys are allowed to exit when the market opens. More losses when they exit after markets open in the US. Look for a major bloodbath on Monday in the US.

Think contrarian guys. Everyone is expecting a bloodbath, but it's just confirmation of what was expected. IMO the market will close up on Monday.

Market will be down today, too much bad news in the world plus we got downgraded over the weekend, buy Gold!!!

markets will be down hard because the dollar just shot up in the past hour or so. Therefore no cash infusions...yet. Watch the dollar closely today. Any drastic mood swings down (weakening) could signal interventions. Today's potential scare could help kick off QE3 in the very very near future. Can you hear the printing presses humming?

Also given the strange movements pre-market (i.e. strengthening dollar, dropping oil, yet gold is flying high, etc etc), I think this is a system flush. Not a start to another recession, nor a simple reaction to bad news. I believe this is like a dog wringing off some water. We will go down, maybe not below 10,000, but we will stay down.

its beginning of Gold season, most of western can't comprehend but in China and India gold buying is toward end of the year. Only reason dollar is rising today is because eurosucks worst than us.
