Noticed something odd about my second 330i project car.

Whenever it sits for over a week, it goes into some deep sleep and will not unlock or lock with the remote- once I unlock it manually with the key (causing the lights to flash signaling it's been unlocked) The remote then works for the remainder of that week.

I'm charged the battery, but maybe it's low? I don't know it's just interesting behavior.

That’s little irrelevant. Biggest factor is how it was used.

Transfer case had close to no fluid inside so that's great. Then struggled for ages to get the bracket and 18mm in place. Fun weekend.
Happens all the time on xdrive.

I would like to say I'm done but looks like I'll be down there soon again since the mount bushing is cracking at least think I got the trick to get it in next time

My small disa is completely dead I just dont want to deal with the manifold again to bother rebuilding it again lol. I'll pull codes tonight maybe. It went completely back to normal after a quick restart. It's been doing the 4x4 thing intermittently for the last couple weeks but this is the first time its done that

Also.. Thinking its time to refresh the transmission. Anyone here have experience with that? GA6HP19Z

Long story short a month before I had to file a claim cuz my moonroof exploded while driving to work and had to get a new moonroof along with having the roof and trunk painted from the glass and didn’t want to file another claim so soon for a “cheaper” incident.

Were you the one who posted about this a while back? I know there was like 2-3 posts about exploding sunroofs right around the same time. Did you find the cause?

I think someone started a thread about it happening to them and I chimed in that the same thing happened to me and that I looked it up and there’s a class action lawsuit involving a bunch of manufacturers using thinner glass causing this to happen.

Oh ok that makes sense. There's a lot of air pressure/forces being put on the sunroof glass at high speeds, so I can see how too thin of panel could have that happen.

Hopefully you are/will get taken care of for that?

Pulled out the leaking stock oil cooler and stuck in a 30 row aftermarket cooler with AN lines. Is finding the new oil capacity as simple as continuing to add small amounts of oil until the dash shows full? Do I need to worry about air in the lines or does the oil system "bleed" itself?

It took around 4 weeks cuz Progressive tried getting them to use used/recycled parts and I said fvck no. The paint job was well done and they replaced my eBay spoiler with the real BMW CF spoiler and I told them to remove the 335i decal for a cleaner look so it wasn’t all bad.

Highly unlikely but if they do somehow win the lawsuit I doubt I’d ever get anything out of it.
