I use it about once a year, after snow season or if I've left the car dirty for a long period of time over and over in between washes. Recommended like every 12-18 months I guess for detailing. Iron X is a chemical decontamination (iron remover) vs. clay lube which removes embedded particles in the clear coat. It makes clay lubing that much easier so you don't have to use a medium or heavy clay bar and really get after it to remove all the contaminants and potentially marring the paint. So say if you think about it like tree removal, clay lube removes the stump and roots from the ground (clear coat) then the Ironx is coming in first and chopping the tree down. Otherwise you're trying to remove an entire tree from the ground by it's roots just using clay bar by itself.
Guys I'm just gonna put my two cents in here.

I always used iron x. It's great but the price not so much. This season i purchased Meguiar's Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner and tried it on my wheels. It is pH balanced and non acidic. It reacted with metallic particles just like iron x. I was super impressed and bought another bottle and used it on my paint for metal decontamination. It worked amazing at half the cost of iron x. It has a bit of a gel-like feel when sprayed so it doesn't run off but rather clings. I let it sit for 5 mins, as i give it a light water mist to prevent drying out.

Regarding clay lube, stop wasting your money on dedicated clay lube. Instead, buy yourself Optimum No Rinse (ONR), dilute it in a spray bottle and use as clay lube.

ONR is one of those products that can be used literally in any application. I use it as a interior cleaner, i add it to my wash bucket, i use it as a window cleaner. It's AMZAING as a window cleaner, literally zero streaks.
Product is highly concentrated so a 1L bottle lasts forever!

Wash yesterday and a layer of Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax today. We normally get a week or two of 110+ degrees in late July but we have a week of it now with that heatwave rolling thru. Looked at the bottle and the first line is apply in shaded area to a cool dry surface. I chuckled thinking “well at least I got shade and the car’s dry”

I finished my dually conversion on the F-250, decided to run without the hubcaps (wheel simulators?) since they're all new and shiny and the caps keep falling off with the HD suspension every time I hit one of the many potholes around here.

This old stuff whatever it is it's worth the effort to save it, you'll be glad you did because there won't be anything like these again. The future may be better and more powerful, but it's much too sterile. (thats my rant for the day)
hasn't been driven in the winter in at least ten years. Sits on a battery tender for 6 months out of the year. It's a 2wd farm truck.
The frame rust was all superficial, the cab and bedsides are perfect. GM just chose to use bare steel lines in the 2000's and they all rot. Especially above the fuel tank, where all the nasty collects and is pretty impossible to wash, which is where the rear brake line circuit failed on this one.
The fuel filter right next to the ABS unit still had factory paint on it.

Lifting apparatus was a 20k "not for lifting" snatch block hung in the tree with a 10K lb strap and shackle, with a 9K lb winch attached to the front of a tractor, that was strapped to my e91 cause it didn't weigh enough.
Attach 4 straps to bed, push button, fly a truck bed into the air.

Did a few things-

Crystal start button
CF steering wheel trim
CF front lip
CF side skirts
CF rear fins
Spacers- 15 front/ 17.5 rear

All came out well and really bring the look of the car together I think.

Washed, clay barred, (one coat of Mothers CMX), and cleaned/condition the Nappa leather on my mom Mercedes.

Going to add another coat of CMX tomorrow after work and then add a layer of meguiar's liquid wax for better shine and protection.

Thing looks like a damn mirror. Love the brown metallic paint.

Should I have filled up earlier and had 13 across the board? On the positive side, I received confirmation that the windshield will be paid for by the contractors insurance so it will be replaced next week.

Didn't "do" anything to her today, but this was delivered the other day. Just waiting on AA headers, and some other parts to arrive, to get started on the swap. Should be getting started in a few weeks (yay covid supply delays... )

Cheers!

Changed the ignition coils today and the spark plugs last week. The child fixed the issue I had with it missing. Never had any codes though.

rebuilt a pressure washer pump. discovered that the key to foam cannon being awesome is a burly pressure washer.
The more pressure you feed it the better it is.

edit:
this is half the amount of soap I used with the previous 2300 PSI unit and you get more foam.

How else do you get in there, or maybe you're not referring to the side panels?

Got an alignment. I wonder if I should start doing this every 6k miles. I usually do it when the steering wheel is off.

Is this the ONR "wash and shine?" Instructions say 1oz to TWO GALLONS of water. At that rate, a $17 32oz bottle yields 64 GALLONS of lube / quick detailer! I'm getting it.

New radiator. Just decided since I replaced everything else no reason for it to be the reason to strand me on a road trip. Also cleaned up the coolant residue from the bottle that leaked.

Not bad for 13 years and 160k miles.
