Tried my tools out on the transfer case mount and while they worked somewhat well, I printed fairly weak parts to get them done fast and they didn't hold all the way to press the bushing in, so just made one out of wood lol.

Found and solved two causes for exhaust rattle, the heat shield for the transmission control lever and the secondary o2 sensor bracket.

Replaced the transfer case actuator with yet another one I put together with good used parts. Starting to think this might be a VTG computer issue rather than the motor.

Agreed, heat and patience is key. The curved edges on the dash trim near the instrument cluster takes some heat and stretching but doable.

Haven't been very active as of late, since the e90 has been filling the role I got it for: being the dependable car I just drive and don't think too much about. I've been spending a lot of time getting stuff done on my Abarth and X1/9.

However, it needs the O2s replaced (120k), ESS, and VCG.

Also got some new tires for the front. Stepped up to 235wide.

Much needed. Blown away these V12s lasted 26,000mi which is crazy considering the way I drive this thing, quite a few track days on them too.

Got the top lubed and the seals conditioned (using one of the DYI found here). We just got the car which had been sitting for a while and there was a lot of dirt in the seals. First time with the top down... still a couple of minor glitches but hopefully it will get better with frequent use

My 335 is as reliable as always so just drove it; but had some extra time so I worked on the race cars and the other E90s. Started swapping out the chrome trim for the shadowline trim on my fathers 335.

As well I had a few minutes after so I swapped my brothers small disa. Found one at the yard that was operating perfectly (from a 2006 surprisingly). Also tested out fitment on a shaved N54 throttle body. After shaving off the front nose(I still have to go a bit farther and remove the last chamfer) but the length, diameter and groove are the same as the N52 one. Also its an MSV80 car so the plug is the same and the throttle body bolts are plenty.

Only hitch is that(after its shaved) its ~10mm longer which I believe the elbow should be able to account for that.

Full coolant system overhaul at 34.6k miles for preventative maint. Water pump and thermo were done at 31.3 due to failure. Also installed charge pipe for precautionary measure.

Major maint done:
HPFP: 19.6k
VCG: 23.9k
Water pump/thermo/hose: 31.3k
Radiator/upper & lower hose/expansion tank and cap/expansion tank hose: 34.6k

Low miles doesn't always mean it doesn't need maintenance🤣

Fired the car up for the first time with its new transmission after it being apart for the last week and a bit. Just need a driveshaft and a transmission cross member and I'll have a manual E91!

I hope to have a 328i-specific swap guide finished soon, though almost everything from the 335i guides apply here (Vehicular DIY on YouTube was a Godsend). So excited to get it on the road! I have a track day this weekend and really hope I won't be in a Jetta for that…

The entire cooling system is now OEM manual stuff, except the CSF all-aluminum radiator I put in. I used the Valeo single-mass flywheel and clutch kit, and redid the clutch pedal bushings with AKG stuff, so the clutch pedal won't have so much play like it did in my 128i, and it feels really great! Shifter was also rebuilt with some AKG and Turner bushings and fresh hardware, and it'll be topped-off with a ZHP knob.

Dinan made a Throttle body that was the same diameter as the N54 ones (88mm compared to stock 85mm).

Claimed 5hp and 4 tq (crank) but either way if thats bloated, it cant hurt HP

Finally received the check from the contractor that caused the windshield to crack, appointment made for Friday. I'll no longer look like a native of Nashville driving with a cracked windshield and no rearview mirror...

I looked at it and thought it still has the same gas in it from 2020. WFH = Zero driving especially as it is the 3rd car. I need to install the 6k in parts I have lying around and make big boi powah.

Did you do REIN for the radiator too? Because Im wondering how it is that puts MORE effort into protecting the rad than BMW? I just did mine (at 150k though) and BMW just throws the thing in a cardboard box to rattle around and bang, no support whatsoever. The first one got smashed by the drain plug in there with it and I had to get a replacement.

I got a Mahle/Behr one, from FCP. FCP put it in a second box, and then in a third one which was more rigid. Zero bent fins or broken tabs.

Drove from ATL to Hilton Head. Averaged 26.4 MPG. Not bad for an average speed of 83 MPH and some stop and go traffic. Pretty impressive for a twin turbo, too...
