Yes, it did. The businesses that were built in Mission Valley were built on the San Diego "River," which isn't really more than a small creek... UNTIL it rains a LOT, then it floods.

My guess would be St. Petersburg Russia (aka: Venice of the north), but the poster said that a friend was visiting there recently and I don't know if outsiders can get there right now because of the sanctions.

Castellfollit de la Roca, located in NE corner of Spain (Catalonia), about 2 hour drive from Barcelona. Castellfollit de la Roca is part of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. The basalt crag where the town is situated is over 50 metres (160 feet) high and almost a kilometre long. It was formed by the overlaying of two lava flows.

The Garrotxa field is a monogenetic volcanic field, with each volcano representing a single period of eruption. The field became active about 700,000 years ago,and is the most recent example of volcanic activity in northeastern Catalonia, which dates back 10 million years.
