my first cell phone was by Qualcomm and it had a jog dial on the side to scroll through the phone book and the screen was monochrome, service from sprint.....

actually it did....it was pretty small....i should try to dig up a picture...
it was a sony phone with a slide up earpiece....

My service was through L.A. Cellular

The normal startacs had the orange/yellow numbering, but the VIP/Limited edition had the red numbering and was in all black.
