My brother picked up an '07 335i manual yesterday. It needs some work, but it will be a fun project! It drives really well.
Starter decided to not work when I went to drive it home, so we're already off to a great start lol.

removed a spoiler yesterday.

if you own an E91, you need to disassemble your hatch completely and fix the rust.
I had fixed the rust in the side last year, I didn't expect this mess under the spoiler.

the seam at the bottom too. Need to cavity wax the whole thing.

Dang, it’s astonishing BMW has been dealing with hatch rust in almost every generation/model. Wonder if this extends to the SAVs…

Any reason why my brake pad sensor wouldn't work after connecting the two wires together? I didn't replace the sensors cuse...well who needs those things. But I still get the red brake like on the dash and Protool shows a code for rear brake pad sensor. I tried cutting the wires again and reconnecting them, still get the code.

the rest of the chassis is pretty good.

but the hatch seems to be a problem. Apparently I'm adding spoiler removal to the regular cleanings of the side mouldings and everything else to keep this thing draining water and not rotting.

check the pins at the actual connector and see if you get continuity? I do this with all my cars (cut the wires, dremel into the connector, solder and RTV shut) and it works every time

Was impossible to snap in. Took the yellow piece off and snapped the old regulator one onto it. Now trying to get the whole thing back into the little assembly. Plastic is fairly weak now but we'll see how it goes

Edit: everything is good so far

Yeah already done that. I'm wondering if there's a break in the sensor some where.

It appears I'm leaking coolant again

Which is crazy, considering I've replaced literally everything up front. If it's going to be anything hopefully its the upper rad hose.

Also my fan shroud got loose on the drivers side, odd but should be an easy fix

I'm curious why you would change the functions of the paddle shifters. IMO, the pull-upshift, push-downshift (pre 2011) is the ideal setup, as left and right do the same thing. That way, you never have to think about it when the wheel is turned, unlike the right-upshift, left-downshift (2011+), where you can easily get confused when taking a corner.
