This better not result in any attendance changes! I for one am stoked to put on my OEM 18s!

Dammit, I was hoping to another week without winter wheels. I guess we have been on borrowed time though...

They just aren't nearly as fun to drive on though.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoy driving a rear wheel drive car around on back roads with snow on them... Traction Control off.

Minnesota BMW Photo Challenges

Guys,

As you can clearly tell, I am having a pretty slow day at work. This thought is based on Gary's idea/suggestion/comment. (IRL MN).

How about we have a monthly photo contest? (I believe there is a similar thread in the photo section, but it would be sweet to have a local one as well)

Now this has nothing to do with how good the picture is (sorry Martin), but how well a picture fits a theme. For example if we decided that for November we need to take pictures of our cars next to a 1980's american car, then each member will post one picture that best fits the theme. Then I guess we will collectively decide the winner for the month. Winner doesn't win anything, just bragging rights, which count for a lot in the online community.

I guess we could take turns picking photo themes for each month. Thoughts?

Regardless of snow, I'll be switching wheels when temps are consistently in the lower half of the 40s.

November Photo Challenge

YES BRIAN THAT IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE!!

November 2010 Photo Challenge Details:

Let's pay tribute to the Midwest's weather effect on cars.

POST A PICTURE OF YOUR CAR NEXT TO THE MOST RUSTY AUTOMOBILE THAT YOU COME ACROSS. THE CAR MUST STILL BE RUNNING, SO JUNKYARD PHOTOS WON'T COUNT. (Post an additional photo or two to really highlight the rust if necessary)

We will review the pictures the last week of November and pick the winner. I guess the winner will get to pick December's

I hope everyone participates!

Good Luck,
Anvar

Thanks Art! I think growing up in India with only 2 or 3 cars to choose from had a profound effect. I decided to let loose a bit when I first came to the US.

This is what most people drove when I was growing up:

Hahahha that was the "tuner" car back in the day. My dad and uncles would tell me about the beastly 30 whp that they would put out with webber carbs and cams.

Thanks Art! My Dad had one with what he called "aircraft" style switches. He bascially moved all the controls (aircon, heater) to the headliner. Don't understand the taste, but then again I don't understand bellbottoms either

In the Philippines, other than the typical Japanese car, we had Stainless Steel Jeeps.
