Look pretty low. Just to the point where it might trigger low pads warning?
The steering angle will most likely have to be recalibrated

So, I took the wheel off again and tried to take the caliper off to see if I can compare both inner and outer pads. But damn the caliper is stuck on tight. I removed the guide pins. From the videos I've watched, that's how you remove the caliper.

But, the inner pads look just like the outer pads. So, I guess the sensor was never replaced when the PO had the rear pads and rotors replaced?

Do you have access to INPA or ISTA?
Look for any codes relating to the SZL module.
You don't have iDrive, right?

The yellow light may be a result of the steering angel sensor too.

Okay, a week later. On my 2nd IPA after a margarita. We now have about 11 hummingbirds. We had to position a 3rd feeder. We are almost out of food. These meffers are crazy.

Went on another early morning drive (5am). I've been doing that alot lately, helps keep the shitty stuff off my mind. I'm in love with the sound from the AA muffler and catless headers

Had my alignment done, to reduce the toe out. The straight line stability feels a lot better, with better control over road transitions and less tram lining. There is a very minimal drop in turn-in, but hardly noticeable and it feels really good at speed.

Put ceramic tint on my sunroof to keep some heat out. Gonna attempt the windshield tomorrow. Gotta give it to tint guys takes a lot of patience and time and very easy to mess up.

Looks clean. Nice headlights and wheels you got there.. lol

In other news, my brake job is done. Everything's almost exactly as I expected it to be driving wise. Just need to recalibrate the dsc to be sure and let the pads wear in over the next few hundred miles

Those pads look fine to me. The code is for the rear sensor, so definitely look at the sensor itself and see if it is worn down. As the brake pads wear, the sensor makes contact and will wear down as well triggering the light. Check to see if the sensor itself is making contact or is damaged. If your pads are fine, it's possible the sensor was never replaced and the code is being triggered based on mileage.

You should be able to replace the sensor, reset the brake service code and the light will go off.

That's what I'm going to do. Don't really feel like paying $23 for a sensor plus shipping from FCP

I wonder how much the sensor cost at my BMW dealership.

Update: $33+ tax at the BMW dealership. I'll order it off FCP

I had troubles getting it to reset even with a new sensor.

had to open the junction box and short the pins on the chassis side with a piece of wire to get the light to reset, then installed new sensor.

It seems way to over engineered for what amounts to a resistance measurement in a loop of wire, but that's BMW.

Yeah FCP seems to be cheapest and it's where I bought mine.

It really is. I have a Foxwell NT520 tool which makes resetting them easy, but just another annoyance. When I did the brakes on this car I just ziptied the sensors out of the way. I swap wheels/tires from winter and summer set so I check the brakes often enough.

I just got my car back after getting the new Michelin PS AS4's rebalanced and an alignment.

The car drives perfect now, like brand new, thanks to my local shop. I do most of my own work, except for stuff I don't have equipment for. I took my car for an alignment last year at the local dealership, and of course they didn't improve it at all, probably because of the seized tie rod and cam bolts they just didn't bother touching. Then come to find out the shop that installed my tires F'ed up 2 lug bolts on one of my wheels. Guy probably just set the impact to the nuclear setting and hammered them on.
