You should have filed a police report. This way if there were witnesses at least they could help you out. It's also easier for the officer to determine who was at fault here. Now he might just change his story and you may be screwed.

+1 on the police report, now it's that "he said she said" crap.....I hope that guy didn't screw you or give you fake information.....

doesn't matter if fake info was given...as long as he has the persons license plate he is OK
