Hi, I'm new to the website and I just recently got a 2009 335i. I am definitely a newbie when it comes to this car and I have just learned a little bit about what the jb3/4 accomplishes. Can you tell me more about it? Thank you!

do not buy a jb3/4. It pushed the car really hard until it knocks and the ecu, being very good at preventing knock, backs the power off to a "safe" level. But its keeps pushing the car to knock over and over. Yes, folks have been driving these cars for tens of thousands of miles on these, but thats just a testament to how good the engine is at protecting knock.

The general consensus is that the safest way to add reliable power is through an ECU flash rather than a piggyback like the JB/Procede/etc. Flashes are more proactive tunes in that they have much more control over ECU parameters, and work in conjunction with your safety systems (amongst others) while piggybacks simply "trick" your ECU into developing more boost and rely on the rest adapting to it.
