X1 steering wheel trim and red M button is finally installed. Should have put some sharpie on the lower lip of the button, theres some light leakage around the edge. Also need a new emblem and the wheel will be pretty much complete, at least for this phase. Will update with pics tomorrow

X1 trim is the best trim.
I prefer it over the M trim.

Where did you get your button?
I got mine on Amazon like a year ago and it was fine.

Agreed. Looks and feels much more premium imo

And I just got it on eBay, figured they'd all be from the same manufacturer. Apologies on the low quality picture, the 11's camera suffers at night

An M badge on the trim would be nice though. I’ve thought of using a dremel to cut an indent the size of the M decal so it would fit. I don’t think I’d make a clean indent and would ruin the trim, so this is a thought I’ve had for years! LOL.

Well it’s not difficulty to pop off and try to put some sharpie on it.

Here’s mine.

Until my car is full msport it will never see an m badge haha. Currently its more AC Schnitzer looking and I have the badges for front lip and m3 fenders. I do have an extra one that may or may not fit on the steering wheel trim. Might just throw it on the dash in the same spot that the 335is badge goes.

Sheesh, might need to buy a new one. That looks much better. Link?

What's everyone think of the red silicone vacuum lines in my pics yesterday, from a cool look point of view? I like the ones on the drivers side, subtle. The ones on the passenger side seem too red, too in your face.

They will be nice and red for a bit and then they will get dirty and you'll wish you went with black.

It doesn’t show up in my cart anymore, I got them a long time ago.

It was similar to this though

Leaving work early to start an early weekend. Heading to FCP Euro to drop off oil for refund and pick up new brakes. Going slotted this time cause why not, I'll never pay for brakes again. FCP IS THE BEST!

I heard about this, super cool and generous… just never figured out the point for them. Only thing I can think of is they bank on people not going through with the returns/exchanges and therefore make lots of initial sales with minor follow through. Thoughts?

That's exactly how it is. They have a video explaining it actually. I think its something like 11% or 15% of people actually use it. Not to mention their customer service is the best I've ever dealt with online, ever. Lifetime customer now, they got my vote

Cool, thanks for explaining it. Yes, agree with you they are fantastic and buy lots of parts from them when I need.

I've read or heard about these guys going way out of the way during non business hours, assuming someone is in the garage for example, getting people parts who are in a jam. They have some awesome videos for many, many jobs. Very knowledgeable every time I've needed to discuss something. Never any fuss about an exchange as I've done coils/plugs about 3 times, oil about every 6 months. I suppose I wouldn't be sending oil back as it may be a pain in the mail but FCP is one of the few reasons I like living in CT as it's a 35 minute drive for me. I would never, ever buy a original BMW part from anywhere but FCP!

Finally got my award from a local event in mid-September. Left a bit early and didn't realize I placed until the BMW CCA Newsletter last week. All smiles now.

Gave it a bath and popped the hood open to dry the sides and whatnot. Once in a while, I'll grab a flashlight and look at the belly pan for liquids. Noticed what seemed like water on the belly pan.

Couldn't sleep so decided to jack the car up and remove the belly pan. BOOM, got hit with coolant soaking up the belly pan.... Not sure where the hell coolant is leaking from but some coolant got on the belt. So, I wiped where the coolant was on the belt.

Ran my finger across the aluminum coolant flange I brought off of Amazon almost a year ago and it looks like coolant is leaking from the coolant hose flange I replaced.

That's weird. Idk if I should drive the car to work tomorrow or let my indy see where the coolant is actually leaking from. I don't want them to charge me $105 to diagnose the issue and it ends up being the flange that's leaking.

The reason why I don't want to drive it to work is because some coolant got on the belt. I don't want the belt slipping and yeah we know the drill

Finished the RB turbo and waterpump/thermo replacements on my fathers 335. Took a few days longer than I wanted but I do have a tendency to clean up absolutely everything while Im at it.

Got it back together friday, took for a spin and boom blew and intercooler connection off; Easy fix. Drove perfect after that.

Saturday comes around. Starts up and misfiring and spraying fuel out of the tail pipes. FUNNNN. So after some quick diagnostics turns out injector 1 was basically wide open.

Off to the local pick n pull yard and for $2 I got a set of 6 Index 1's (to replace an index9), swapped number 1 in a few mins and now its back to normal.

It really sucks when you finish and a whole new problem arrises
