Cleaned the engine bay.

I keep noticing what seems like either engine oil or coolant on the belt. Not 100% sure what it is. I can't seem to find where the hell either of those two liquids can be leaking from.

Checked the coolant flange fitting. It seemed kinda wet from underneath. But, I noticed coolant on the belly pan a few days ago too.

If the coolant flange is leaking causing coolant to drip all the way done to the belly pan, wouldn't the belt be soaked in coolant? The belts not soaked it's just lightly wet from where the belt loops on the A/C compressor pulley.

I have an appointment Nov 10th with my indy to take a look at where the leak is coming from and the long crank issue. But, I want to see if I can figure out where the leak is coming from beforehand.

Any ideas?

I have...not done anything to my car for the last 4 months other than wash it. Nada. Zilch. It drives great and doesn't leak. Anything that I could do to it are really bonus mods or nitpicky maintenance right now.

Between buying a house and a wedding and a new job, the car has had to take a back seat. But you know what, that's the beauty of preventative maintenance. It's in great shape. I can not do any work on it for quite some time before it really needs anything, and that's exactly why I do preventative maintenance. Different times take different priorities. When there's not a lot of other priorities I can do preventative maintenance.

Things that I'd love to do:

- M3 rear upper/lower control arms
- Lower steering shaft
- Pre-cat O2 sensor preventatively
- Extract a broken brake bleeder screw or just replace the whole thing with a reman

I'll probably do the brake bleeder screw and O2 sensors in the next few months.

JB+

Installed JB+ on my bone stock 2007 335i because....I knew someone who was looking to get rid of theirs and I was curious, so why not. Let's see what happens.

Virtually zero difference in power band where I really care about - off the line in first gear. The 335, especially the E93 cabriolet with hard top stowed in the trunk is a real lard ass. With JB+ first gear it's still OK but I have to admit that after about 3000 rpm I felt more giddy-up which made a difference. Same in 2nd, 3rd, and so on gear.

JB+ is not a game changer if you are looking for across the board big performance gains. But if you are looking for a little extra ooomph, without spending much and you don't want to muck with flashing your car, there is definitely some modest gains there. Is it worth $200 - for most people probably not. It'll help you get into 335is territory, but not much else. If you have $200 or so to burn, why not. But if you have to pinch pennies, I'd definitely spend my money on preventative maintenance first before vroom-vrooming your E9X.

I used 3 coats of Plasti Dip. I have tried a lot of other coatings in the past, but the Plasti Dip has the best color match, matte finish and thickness of what I have tried.

Drove to work for the first time since the pandemic started.
Not bad mileage, honestly - 23.0 mpg overall. All the city driving the past two years brought it down, though.

That is the coolant tank cap.
I was inspecting the o-rings when these pices fell off in my hand.
It definitely got brittle over time. Good thing it didn't fall into the tank.

Finally pulled the trigger and popped for ProTool. So far I've removed the iDrive disclaimer, set angel eyes (halos?) to DRL, and coded out the SAT option as I've bypassed the faulty unit. It's a fun little tool, should have picked it up long ago.

I'm hunting around for the options for police flashers, saw that in another thread here. I've got a lot of LEO friends I'd like to mess with, also it would be cool to flex them at my local cars & coffee. "I got options, but your MR2 with a Prelude engine is cool too."

There’s an option in the frm module for law enforcement vehicles or something.
I tried it once but don’t think it flashed like police cars.

The double impulse hazards are nice.

I actually just came back in from the garage and enabled that one. I'm going through your other thread now and may have to return to the garage.

I'm wanting to restore my wheels when I put the winters on, but can't decide what color I want. Matte black is getting old. What do you guys think? I'm thinking silver or maybe bronze

I should have gotten pictures of those 21ft sticks of box tube I stuck up there last year.
