Is this a perfectly safe mod to do on an otherwise unmodded car?
My E92 looses it's warranty in may and I was thinking that first mod I would do would be LSD + maybe additional little something like this turbo upgrade ![]() |

Guess its because its winter but as car playtime is a few months away, I'm not seeing many trap speeds/vbox data for these n55 stage 1 upgrades in the thread.
Assuming FBO and 6AT and the right drivetrain/suspension and tires, is it unrealistic to expect the stage 1 with the inlet pipe could be good for 120mph traps and sub 10 second 60-130 times on an e30 or e40 mix or maybe some 100 octane unleaded without meth? |

For me, a drive in a nice weekend car that I'm trying to preserve could quickly turn into a mandatory trip to the worst roads in the outer boroughs of NYC, without time to switch to a daily driver. In essence the basic thresholds that justify a turbo upgrade aside from a better powerband are the above, 120mph trap speed (could care less about ET) and sub 10 second 60-130, and to hit those numbers as a repeatable benchmark as opposed to a unicorn run. If you look at the figures for stock cars today that are considered genuinely fast, that's kind of where my head is at. However, those cars generally are too nice and too stiff and I would never want to subject them to the abuse that is Linden or Suthpin. Under 2k all in on my existing car to be amongst said company is a pretty good deal in my book. If the n55 with Pure can hit those times it puts in amongst pretty good company. f80 m3 will likely be my replacement in 3 years or so once I'm well into the miles which precipitate big repair bills on my e90. |
