Mounted a remote AUX plug in the passenger footwell area. High up and out of the way so I think it will be fine. Debated going with the AUX or a much lower profile USB outlet, but figured this would be more versatile.

We just got back from a 6,000 mile road trip with the E91.
The car performed flawlessly and was extremely comfortable to drive for extended hours. Tomorrow she'll get a wash and interior cleansing.

At the time, I snipped off the the lighter and put on some connectors, so I could wire in the AUX unit. I couldn't decide between a flush-mounting USB one, or the larger but more versatile AUX, so bought both. I decided to go with the AUX as it can be used for more options, and with the connectors I could change out to USB only if I decide to. Here is the AUX: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JL3DLNL/ And here is the USB only one I have on hand: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFR571Z The USB one is much more flush and out of the way, second guessing myself at the moment! Here's another photo closer in: |

Today I did the front M3 control arms (upper and lower) also did new strut mounts. The control arms were way more difficult that expected....

Did it originally for my radar detector since I had it in the bottom left windshield I would imagine you could use the same concept for the passenger footwell, similar to the OEM application you'd find in some E90s

Seems like alot of work. I just wired my radar into the rear view mirror, the wiring kit was like $30 on Amazon, as for the AUX, I thought all e9x had the aux in the center console? If so there's a blue tooth adapter that plugs into the aux, that was about $10 on Amazon.

For those who have done the M3 control arms up front. Did you take it for a test drive afterwards? Yes I know I need an alignment after the install..but Jesus christ it drives absolutely horrible, like almost dangerously bad. Did anyone experience this?

After a proper alignment though, it’s an entirely different car. HIGHLY recommend. |

Ya it should be horrible; The camber/toe change from the lower control arm is that noticeable

Found out that the TCU has been slowly draining my battery while parked. Went to drive it this AM and noticed that the angel eyes didn’t light up like they usually do. Car started fine, but the cluster didn’t have my BC presets saved, and there was an SOS malfunction warning displayed in the KOMBI and iDrive.
Bloody Combox can’t arrive soon enough… Thank goodness for the E31 - borrowed its battery tender to charge the battery back up. Also, am very close to purchasing perhaps the rarest BMW with an N52 in it. Anyone want to guess what it is? It’s replacing a W203 Mercedes C230 which has a faulty EIS (key cylinder). Not worth it to fix, as unlike BMW, only the dealer has the requisite coding software, and the car is worth maybe $1K. |
