Mounted a remote AUX plug in the passenger footwell area. High up and out of the way so I think it will be fine. Debated going with the AUX or a much lower profile USB outlet, but figured this would be more versatile.

We just got back from a 6,000 mile road trip with the E91.

The car performed flawlessly and was extremely comfortable to drive for extended hours.

Tomorrow she'll get a wash and interior cleansing.

It's a nutzo good car. Also, since we're getting blasted by a cold front it's really fun experiencing how this car shrugs off the cold.

I can do that! First off, I took out the ashtray/cigarette lighter and installed the sunglasses tray. I did that a week or so ago, but only got around to retrofitting the lights into the new tray yesterday: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...0#post28418490

At the time, I snipped off the the lighter and put on some connectors, so I could wire in the AUX unit. I couldn't decide between a flush-mounting USB one, or the larger but more versatile AUX, so bought both. I decided to go with the AUX as it can be used for more options, and with the connectors I could change out to USB only if I decide to.

Here is the AUX: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JL3DLNL/
And here is the USB only one I have on hand: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFR571Z
The USB one is much more flush and out of the way, second guessing myself at the moment!

Here's another photo closer in:

For anyone else deciding to do this, I relocated the stock cigarette lighter from the ashtray to the drivers footwell, just above the dead pedal. Cut a hole, JB welded it to the cover from the back side, and ran some wire to the original harness. Got lazy and used T Taps but its been working for a year now.

Did it originally for my radar detector since I had it in the bottom left windshield

I would imagine you could use the same concept for the passenger footwell, similar to the OEM application you'd find in some E90s

Seems like alot of work. I just wired my radar into the rear view mirror, the wiring kit was like $30 on Amazon, as for the AUX, I thought all e9x had the aux in the center console? If so there's a blue tooth adapter that plugs into the aux, that was about $10 on Amazon.

Thats what I'll be doing for my next radar detector. I ditched the old one.

I now use my cig lighter for my rgb footwell lighting (I keep it dim and red orange) and power cable for my spotify car thing

For those who have done the M3 control arms up front. Did you take it for a test drive afterwards? Yes I know I need an alignment after the install..but Jesus christ it drives absolutely horrible, like almost dangerously bad. Did anyone experience this?

I do remember it being a bit scary when driving it to the alignment shop.
After a proper alignment though, it’s an entirely different car. HIGHLY recommend.

Ya it should be horrible; The camber/toe change from the lower control arm is that noticeable

Found out that the TCU has been slowly draining my battery while parked. Went to drive it this AM and noticed that the angel eyes didn’t light up like they usually do. Car started fine, but the cluster didn’t have my BC presets saved, and there was an SOS malfunction warning displayed in the KOMBI and iDrive.

Bloody Combox can’t arrive soon enough…
Thank goodness for the E31 - borrowed its battery tender to charge the battery back up.

Also, am very close to purchasing perhaps the rarest BMW with an N52 in it. Anyone want to guess what it is?
It’s replacing a W203 Mercedes C230 which has a faulty EIS (key cylinder). Not worth it to fix, as unlike BMW, only the dealer has the requisite coding software, and the car is worth maybe $1K.

E60 528i xDrive M-sport? Only reason I made this guess as I didn’t know they existed til today. I’ve seen a few 328ix’s with the M sport package, but never a 528ix. Car looks pretty clean, definitely an extremely rare spec. I’m tempted to go check it out.

My guess would either be an E61 530 M-sport wagon with a 6spd or an E83 x3 3.0si 6spd car. There has to be a handful of them out there at best
