Got a quote on painting and side skirt adjustment.

$500 for a painting a brand new front bumper seems pretty good? Bout $100 for mirror housings, maybe about $150 to adjust these m3 side skirts I fucked up somehow

Also who here has had body shop strip their hood to bare metal and re-painted? BMW collision center to be specific, anything I should be worried about deciding to do that? The m3 skirts I had them do years ago were paint matched as perfect as I can see and I have a very OCD eye..

I tried the pull it back and let it reset thing... did't work, and I think a fuse blew (won't do anything now). Three fails my indy will be happy about :-/

Mirror "lugs" in place, with mirror splayed out too far:

Mirror orientated correctly, but "lugs" not in place/engaged:

So I moved to upkeep, that's something that can't go wrong! Checked all the tire PSI and brake wear, then gummi phleged all the gaskets on all five cars, which was a bit of work. Then detailed the engine bay of three. Finally detailed/dusted off the fiver and the 330i, and called it a day! They look pretty nice for 12-17 year old cars!
Mine do this too. The passenger side mirror glass has plenty of movement to adjust it to my view. The driver side adjustment isn’t the best though.

Bumper price seems fair if the color match is good.
I’m not sure why they would want to strip a hood down to the metal. It’s not needed unless the paint is peeling or cracked. Only worry would be that they use the right primer for bare metal.

Yeah, this is a perplexing one. I'll tear into it again this weekend, but figure I can R&R with another set if I need to.

As for today's installment of the car chronicles, I helped Firstborn add LED angels to his E91. Baby's first mod!

so they stop short? That's a different problem, but still probably because the whole thing needs lube. The pin is supposed to drop in the hole and then that's when the motor controller senses the current and stops. Yours may be gunked up enough to trick the motor into thinking it's stopped in the right place.
unsure, mine was 100% the pin not dropping down and it over rotated.

Installed VRSF turbo inlet pipe in 20 degree weather at least the engine was still warm. It actually is a really easy install took less then 20 min start to finish and running back in the house looking for tools and stopping to answer my 7 year olds questions. I will take it out late to see if the butt dyno feels any better.

Looked out at my new to me 335i sitting in my driveway awaiting a title so I can get it registered. It sits cold and dark with a battery tender hitched to it in this cold winter vs last year.

They stop short of being over-extended and splayed forward. They lock into place, but about 5-10^ more than they should be. But the "lock" in just fine and don't have the problem of not stopping like most (all?) videos I've seen.

Wired the diffuser brake light to the rear fogs as well today. I set the voltages for the fogs at 9v and brake lights to 13v. Hopefully there's at least some visible difference in light when the brake is applied.

The 4v difference probably won’t be noticeable unless you are staring at it.

After doing a small test with my phone it's negligible, but its there. The rear fogs are the only halogen bulbs in the rear. If I swapped them for LEDs I could probably lower the voltage a little more.

Not a gigantic concern though.

Oh, and I ordered some connectors for the soft close motor. A guy on fleabay sells wiring harnesses so I was able to get four of them with a foot or so of wire each. $25 shipped

Got some RGB led strips with sequential turn signal built into them for the e90. They fit perfect between the top of the headlight and the hood.

I tested them on the car and I cannot wait to install them!

Got word yesterday my wheels were done being sandblasted. Having them fill in the gouges with weld instead of me taking them home for epoxy

Old headlights have been sent out to be rebuilt
-ZKWR clear projector lenses
-blacked out housing
-switchback halos
-new outer lenses

I can't wait for the lights. When I bought the car the lenses were paint matched Jet Black. I thought they were halogens.. I've been running eBay lights since then, 4 years with this current set. I never got to experience AFS. Super excited
