Will these settings work for a 2009 E90 M3?

I'm not sure, depending on what audio setup you have I'd think.

I have iDrive and enhanced sound. Just wondering what the best settings for that are.

Tested these out and they really work out nicely. Thanks to Malekreza11 !!
Another quick question though.. I have been trying to get the sound of the "Cathedral" setting on my E93. The "cathedral" setting basically provides more echo, this setting is found on the Hifi system DSP in my other car 2001 BMW 740IL. Does anyone have an idea as to how to get this on the 2007 E93? I would highly appreciated. Thanks !!! |

First post here. I just wanted to mention that I tested out the updated settings on the first page on my 2007 E92 AW Coupe Logic 7 iDrive. The settings did sound nice...however, I did end up switching back to a Flat EQ, Surround with Concert Hall, Bass +2, Treble +2.
I sat in the car with some "audiophile" CDs that I use with my main home stereo system to really see what can be done. Here are a few things I have noticed: 1) The EQ settings really do work well for most kinds of music. I love what it does for the top end and mids, however, with the bass settings there was this "one note"-ness in the bass. There is more bass texture that comes through with the flat EQ settings, but there is more impact with the EQed settings. Most of this impact can be added through the bass/treble shelf settings of +2. 2) The BMW premium sound setup is really a sound quality setup and quite nice from factory. Very very nice for a car, but still compromised. I really can't complain. As for some background, I'm actually VERY picky about sound quality and come from a very well setup home system which I used as my mental reference. Here are some pics of my home setup in it's dedicated room: Sitting position and back wall Equipment Rack: Left side of Room: Turntable Rack: Tonearms for Turntable: Front of Room: |

These setting worked nicely on my 08 E90 ... I am a fan, however, of more sound from the rear. So I did adjust that back to 0. I am not a fan of all the sound being up front when I'm in the car.
Thanks for posting this.

I tried the E90 with idrive settings in my car ('08 335), and it didn not sound good at all. It was not at all tonally balanced, and was not enjoyable to listen to. I know that everyone has personally preferences when it comes to how their stereo sounds, and for me these setting do not work.
That being said, the system is pretty good for a factory system, but it could be much much better. I still love the car though! |

Roll on Wednesday when I can try these settings in a new E93, so thanks in advance Malak
It's a shame that there isn't some sort of Audyssey-style setup process that calculates the EQ to the drivers seating position, I have Audyssey at home and it seems to work brilliantly. |

Right, I've put the post 2009 settings in to my 2011MY E93, and whilst there is a lot of clarity on the mid and upper ranges (although sometimes the tops can sound too bright almost to the point of harsh) there seems to be a complete lack of bottom end and mid-bass.
I'm not saying that I expect a kick in the back and punch in the kidneys, it's just that there doesn't seem to be much in a way of low-range reproduction going on. I'm guessing that there needs to be some tweakage on the E93, probably nothing too drastic but perhaps just a raising of 80hz/100hz to flat or perhaps even a slight boost, and a reduction in boost of 5khz and 10khz. I've tried upping the separate bass setting but this doesn't sound very "clean". Last edited by Mackle; 12-16-2010 at 11:16 AM.. |

Bump for E90 M3 settings (enhanced sound and all that jazz).

My EQ Setting for HK
Wanted to share my setting on the 2011 HK system, I've been using these setting for about 4 days and for me, I think they enhance the system. It's nice to finally hear the surround rear speakers working to enhance the system.
I first started out with the basic setting as mentioned in the first post and tweaked most of the latter ones that seemed to really open up the rear speakers. I also took the advice of another poster by moving the balance +2 to the right (this is great advice because as your driving you are further away from the right side of the car so bringing those speakers on the right closer to you helps in that respect) 2011 E90 335i iDrive with HK Treble +2 Bass +1 Balance +2 (to the right) Fader +4 (to the rear) (trust me it still gives to plently of volume in the front) HK EQ settings: 100hz -2 200hz -1 500hz +1 1khz +3 2khz +8 5khz +8 10khz +8 |
