"A little more room left for 93"? We have seen over 450whp on 93. I bet he can get over 400whp on a DJ once the tune is done even on 91.

For 368 WHP on 91 octane:
Max boost is 19.8 at 4800 RPM, tapers to 17.5 at redline Timing ranges from 0 to -3.3 above 3500 AFR 12.2 from 4900-6100 RPM, at 3900 it is 12.9 |

Looks good. Once you can get into the 4-7* timing window, your setup will probably pick up a solid 25-45whp... On 98-100 octane, you can run about 8-10* of timing and pick up another 10whp or so. Straight 102 unleaded oxygenated (like MS109) 11-13* of timing, and even more HP/TQ.

Thanks Cory. I can get VP 101 unleaded/oxygenated here in CA, I am mixing it 50:50 with 91 to get 96. It is expensive though, not sure whether I'll go for a 101 tune after dialing in the 96 tune for the new HFC...

Something definitely sounds off. What are your mods again? I went back the last 4 pages and couldn't find the list. I would expect about 50whp more if you are FBO with the stage 2 on 91. It sounds like you are stock DP, which is a restriction even on the stock turbo. Maybe it is a huge restriction on a bigger turbo?

Here is a log from the last dyno run that showed 368 HP on crap CA 91 octane gas at higher RPM. There was a big dip in the torque curve down low that corresponded to the dip in the boost curve you can see on the graph:
http://datazap.me/u/drrobert/ptf-pur...og=0&data=4-17 Dzenno has since fixed the boost curve with a newer map he made me after that dyno run. Here is a log from the current map: http://datazap.me/u/drrobert/ptf-pur...og=0&data=4-17 I will be repeating the dyno on this new map and hope to do some fine tuning on the dyno remotely with Dzenno in the next couple of weeks. After that we will retune for 96 octane with the new HFC. |

i parted out my car a little while back b/c of a bad ticket i received...i left the PS2 turbo on my car and drove it stock for quite some time and recently came up on a good deal for a chargepipe and ended up buying my old jb4 back from a friend i sold it to who traded his car in. so the only mods on my car are JB4 with a "ramp up" boost curve charge pipe and PS2 turbo ALL ELSE STOCK! im running no more then 15.5 psi at redline with e30 in the tank and my car is still a fucking rocket. no misfires dct isnt slipping(i will buy a cobb for BEF if it starts) i posted a speedo video on flat ground a few nights ago on the 135i facebook page if anyone wants to check it out. 30-120 mph its incredible how fast it is with these simple mods and not even 16psi peak if i had to guess its making over 400whp at redline. im running the newest 5.10 hex firmware on jb4 with the 6 cyl logging and i had a few weird dips in timing where all cylinders went to 0 then back up during a 3rd gear log but otherwise all looks pretty damn good. i dont think the stock dp is a huge restriction on these cars for lower boost runs

With the BEF, he could have the boost hit as fast as possible and the dct would hold.

Car rips dood! It's was really smooth and fast. I was really surprised such a simple set up and conservative boost curve could result in a really fast car. Awesome. |

Very informative thread, thanks guys.
Recently went PS2 with TBI and dealing with the misfire issues. I was running fuel-it TBI BEF and have since switched to BMS big turbo BEF, disconnected TBI and dropped to E20. So far running better. I might try increasing E content and connecting the TBI with the BMS BEF. It just gets old not having the car run right and hoping it doesn't limp mode when getting on it.

I am one of them... Currently working on it. What's needed is 95770 or N20 plugs @ .018-.019", strong fresh coil packs (under 25,000 miles), an AFR no richer than 12.6:1 above 5000rpm , and a heck of a lot of HOPE.....
