Didn't read the entire thread, assume you took the 50% refund, considering you used the turbos for a long period of time. I don't know anybody that will refund your money, or any money after 30-90 days for any product. Go buy a big screen UHD TV, have it implode in 6 months, nobody is refunding your money. They will warranty it. And they cost more/as much as your turbos bro. Next, this isn't the Porsche world where there are companies with a decade of experience and proven high power applications...BMW market has always been a little "iffy" for after market turbo applications. And, the choices are limited. Good luck. That is life with modding, stuff happens, you live and learn.

Yep for up to 2 years.
The point is that the original poster had 2 failures. He wasn't exactly happy but was ok after the first failure but then he had a second failure where VTT denied it being a problem with the turbos but rather something else with the car

I didn't want the refund from the first rebuild because I had faith and truly thought he would follow up with a set that would work. But within 300 miles of the second set they already failed and now had racked up 2400 in two install of labor fees. I wanted the refund to atleast help balance off a little of the labor install and just deal with the outcome: he then retaliated because of my honest review of him and his customer service

I love how a car isn't smoking and then when upgraded frames are installed and they smoke it suddenly is the cars fault and there is an issue with the car. |

yea. I'm just happy I have a running and nonsmoking car. Time to figure out what to do with this set of turbos just sitting here

No, they will take it back within 90 days, they won't refund your money for 2yrs. They will provide/extend the warranty for 1yr above the standard.
I gave two examples, most won't refund/return after 30-60 days, some will upwards of 90 days like Costco. I said two things, but my example was one in comparison of the poster after nearly 1yr wanting 50% of his money back. But I then specifically said go find somebody who will refund your full, or even any money after 6 months, like a TV. I stand by that statement. And so will Costco. 90-days is the limit for a very few places on things like electronics. Crutchfield will only do 60 days. The rest, good luck. Turbos, not happening.

I brought my vacuum back to Costco after 10 months and they took it back - I love Costco! They also took back a rug after a year, and a rice cooker after 6 months.
I get your point. But, that doesn't change the fact that Vargas turbos are unreliable or questionable at best and that this guy went through 2 sets, and that Vargas kept saying his engine was the problem when in fact it wasn't at all. To make matters worse, Vargas told OP he would not honor the return/refund specifically because He shared his (true) story and vendor feedback on a public forum!!! Who the hell does this??!! While I understand that your often SOL when it comes to many aftermarket upgrades such as turbos, I would not feel any confidence in buying any product, let alone an expensive set of turbos with associated labor costs, from this kind of vendor.

Everything I buy from ll bean has a lifetime warranty. I don't even need a receipt. I walk in with 15 year old boots and then hand me a new pair.
Who honestly gives a shit what other companies do? There is a written warranty policy for VTT products. Was the policy honored by the vendor or not?

His warranty policy states he will rebuild the turbo's. He rebuilt them once. He offered to rebuild them again. He technically did follow his policy. Then he offered a 50% refund but the hate threads continued so he took back that offer, which was not part of his warranty policy. |

I'll chime in here.
I would never buy replacements from a place that I was not close enough to drive to and have them do the install. I've heard good things about RB, but he isn't local to me and having to pull and ship would suck. VTT is down the street from me and even with the stories, I can drop the car and go in and talk to the folks. YMMV, but with something as expensive as this and possibly a nightmare if wrong, I'll stay with the local guy.
